Reservations are pushing back India
by praveen kumar on Jun 05, 2007 10:48 AM  Permalink

Reservations are meant to uplift Poor people. But Now a days that is being used extensively by Sons/Daughters of Politicians. It is not reaching the people who deserve it. Caste is not basis for poor community. Other than India no other country which are really developing has caste based reservation.

Please help poor people in their education by helping economically. I will ask all politicians, how many of them helping poor people which is alloted by government instead of putting into their pockets ? Don't spoil the next generation by the way of Reservation.

support the sc/st quota
by zarine bahmani on Jun 05, 2007 10:44 AM  Permalink

i support quota for s.c./s.t. provided they come from financially backward families. meriteous students should be given all opportunities to study in good schools first.
i know of one such person who studied in godrej school at vikroli mumbai and is now an M.B.B.S.,M.D.in mumbai hospital.
i also know of a lady doctor who took an s.c./s.t certificate and got addmission in medical college even though she wasnt financially backword or belonging to an s.c./s.t.

SC/ST
by SAM KIM on Jun 05, 2007 10:35 AM  Permalink

I am an upper caste fellow. But i suuport reservation for SC/ST.
But please apply creamy layer formula, otherwise in SC/ST only poor dont get benifited as elite in these castes keep cornering the benifit's.
If this trend continues, another 100 years of reservation also is not sufficient to uplift the SC/ST.

So please get creamy layer concept in to reservation just to benifit the REAL POOR and OPPRESSED people.

No one should have reservation
by Mahesh Vaylampurathu on Jun 05, 2007 10:33 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I belong to the so called BC but have not opted for reservation in my life, It is my personal openion, reservation should be for the poor and that too only for upliftment after some stage they shuld stand on their own. Reservations makes us dependent, we should be independent and free from any Backward feelings.

Reservation
by anurag sinha on Jun 05, 2007 10:27 AM  Permalink

I am totally against any cast based reservation. Government shld support financially weaker section of the society.Otherwise present system of reservation will certainly ruin the society .This is making the castism more strong instead of its eradication. The political parties are making it a tool to climb the power ladder.Such politicians have no concern with the welfare of the masses. The politicians like VP Singh & Arjun Singh have done enough demage to the society . It is important that the matured & wise leaders of the different casts should explain to their society about the evil of reservation and approach the government for no reservation for any cast . Instead we should agitate & protest against the government for better performance and make them impement the social duties in the true spirit. The welfare funds should be utilised for the cause it is assigned and not for the welfare of the politicians.Reservation is crutches whereas we should ask for the support to make the society strong to stand on its own.

I SUPPORT
by Bal Sant on Jun 05, 2007 10:25 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I totally support reservation system.

It is the only solution to uplift the BC communities. They have been deliberately kept away from knowledge and wealth of society for thousand of years. They have been physically and mentally harassed for so many years.

It will take atleast 100 years to bring all these people to the the average level.

Reservations seats are very small compared to other communities organisations like pvt companies and banks etc.

Govt. jobs are very less in numbers, they are not filled in time, so it is useless to make issue of reservation system, some upper caste leaders unnecessarily ignites mentality of young students to protests against reservation system.

Mr. Bal Sant, what about reservations motivated politically, nothing to do with needy SC/ST, such as creamy layer etc., who is snatching the rights of others. Therefore even in 60 years of independence, this hate is developed instead of harmoney.

Middle class people are the ppl who suffer from the Reservation
by Girish Gangadkar on Jun 05, 2007 10:23 AM  Permalink

I don't know why Arjun singh is so hell bent on this issue. He has never faced the challenge the middle class people are going through. Upper class people can get seat through lump sum amount of money and the lower class through reservation but does anyone care for the middle class people who make up majority class in this country. They are the real people who literally need reservation.
