Let us show these people the light. Let us show these telemarketers the sin they are commiting. They are ignorant and need our compassion. Ultimately in the kingdom of heaven, there won't be any telemarketer for they will be in Hell along with Bush & Osama.
Treat these people with compassion for they do not know what hell is.
Let us make their life on earth better by being polite to them.

There is nothing wrong in what the telemarketers are doing. They are doing their job. Who are we to "forgive" them. For all we know, there may soon be a day when we would make most of purchases either online or thru telephone

Let us telecall them as they telecall us and deliver them from evil Amen.
The telemarketer will directly address by ur name..ask him/her very politely abt who gave them your no. and address. (they'll resist) when you have finished, tell him/her to hand over the phone to their leagal advisor or the most superior person in office. When he/she takes over...tell him/her that you are recording the conversation and why should you NOT file a case against for calling you without your consent and get their company blacklisted and locked !
Imagine if you are your family member happens to be working with telemarketing company, can you suggest the same to play with them, we all should respect other professionals, even they are humans.

From the replies to comments, it looks like lot of telemarketers are on this forum and have got hurt/angry.
But it is good that this debate has been started. People should understand the agony these calls cause to normal citizens.
Recently TRAI has passed a judgement and these telemarketers will be required to pay a heavy fine to the telecom companies if they call a customer whose number is in the DND register.
be polite with the telecallers and pretend to be very interested-ask the exec to visit your office during odd hours and give a wrong address-so ultimately the agency is at loss and the telecaller is not harrased.
These are not the way to deal anyone. This article is making fun of a serious business which also helps lot of customers. Rediff must be more sensitive in dealing with these type of articles.
We all crib about this way marketing but all i want to say is that the people who does this are also human before misbehaving with them just think about your decency level is it worth to abuse anybody who is just looking for a answer of yes or no and moreover i really feel that it is high time now we should start beliving in the principal of "DIGNITY OF WORK"
but what about when they bugged me for a week and finally took their sim card... they said it will be activated in 12 hours... Its been 4 days and I've been stranded without my phone. If I call them up, they say it will take time.. not the same attitude when they are trying to convince us... once cash handed over... deal's done .. let the customer suffer... I dont know about others.. this is a minor issue.. But the same thing happens in most cases... be it a phone connections.. personal loan or a credit card...
I once asked them to visit my office for a credit card and made them wait outside for two hours. But I was surprised to find they were still waiting patiently. Then I called them and said I didnt want any card and sent them back.
Next time, I made them wait on the phone and I went about doing my work. Though it never works with them, atleast I had the satisfaction of giving them something back!!
