I agree with anand..! basically what hje means to say is that u r not a true entrepreneur if u r looking for a low capital more money business..! u r a mere speculator.., maybe stock market is a good place for u.. man,the whole idea is that u got to have ur thinking / attitude right , to be a successful entrepreneur.
I think that to be Lucky is an very important in getting a job for survial. Because many people are having the same age, same qualification, same height, same weight, likewise same hands, face, legs etc. but one is at a ladder's top and the other is at the bottom.
I'm surprised that a CEO of such a leading corporate insisists on 70-80 hours of work/week. Work should be need based, quality oriented and not quantity oriented, as the emphasis is more on quality than on quantity that is stressed by most IT majors. I'm not saying you should not work hard, but working productive is different, and beyond a certain limit, too much work is also boring, thereby reducing quality of outputs.

Quality and Quantity are both inversely proportional to each other. Reducing one will always increase other. Making a good balance in them is an efficient work. Many a times it is also noticed that if any work is interested and creative man can work upto 20 hours a day, but under the condition of refreshment and not lasting for many days.

The concept of Quality and Quantity is gaining acceptance in India only because of outsourcing and globalisation. These are concepts prevalent in the western business world to a large extent. To make it big in a challenged country like India we need to give out Quality for 70 hours a week. Please do not forget that the above article is meant for entrepreneurs and not people who are satisfied with working for themselves their whole life, getting their children married and enjoying their retired life.

You forget one thing! These days whether you are employed or whether you are an entrepreneur, the sense of entrepreneurship has to be there to be successful. It does not matter whether you are employed or of your own. This is also a philosophy driven by several MNC's which asks their employees to think that they are the owners of the establishment and take decisions and work accordingly. I am surprised how this aspect is not understood by many!

I beg to drastically disagree with ur view point.. The mindset required to be successful in job and the one required to be a successfull entrepreneur are diameterically opposed to each other. While u need a distructive attitude for job, you need a constructive attitude for entrepreneurship. And about the MNC's, even there u have the same Indians working..!!
One can pride himself working 80 hours even 1000 hours on a non-existing week! But if we look at the productivity it will be a BIG ZERO. What Azim Premji delivers? Nothing in simple world. Is he motivating his employees in delivering? Again BIG NO. He can pretend like working in his spacious office room filled with sycophants praising him for 24 hours on how rich he is how this and that blabla... Even I love to work in such environments surrounded by sycophants and my only ability is to hear what others say especially ONLY good about me!

You are talking as if u worked closely with Azim Premji. Guys like Murthy, Mittal, Premji have come from a relative middle class background. India has got only hand full of successful entrepreuners (world class). There will always be ppl like you to comment nonsense. When Mr.Bagchi says 60 hours of work it is not donkey work.

Wipro presumed to be successful due to many reasons but never due to leadership qualities of Premji or his sons. He is not even a CEO. He is just an investor. Most likely looking at the Pie Charts and Bar Charts. Worst case, questioning some line managers on data. Rest of the stuff works inspite of his presence. He does not face press nor he has the pressure of market performance as he owns 80% of Wipro. He is the worst example of a successful corporate.

Rightly said that Premji is just a mere investor and a greedy share holder. wipro is successful because of reasons other than Premji.

I think some Indians have really bad impression of Premji. But guys he is a successful person today and remember the qoute " nothing succeeds like success"..! Its a well established philosophy that u need both caliber and luck to be successful...The succesful people are those who wait prepared for some good luck to happen, and, and then without hesitation take the entire credit themselves...! its life...!just take it as it comes..!

you are just jealous of him. Without a proper guidance of Ajim Premji Wipro would not been here where it is now. And Microsoft would not have such a successfull company what it is now. Just open your eyes. You too can sit in such a big office if you have the will.

Hello, If you think that Azim Premji is just a big Zero, then why don't you become as rich as him? Why don't you own a recognized Company, Forget about that I don't think you even know how to start your own business!

An extremely intelligent observation. Entrepreneurs are goal oriented and motivated to make the most of their opportunities and definitely not "opportunist". Probably the writer of the original article had overlooked the negative connotation of the word "opportunist"....it should rather have been dynamic!
