Sabrimala
by b on Dec 20, 2007 11:40 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The Irony is Sabrimala is most visited Hindu temple in Kerala, but Hindus are minority in Kerala. All the money collected from there goes to building churches all over kerala.

Samething in the case of Thirumall, one of richest temple, still the money is swindled by Christians.

No wonder, all the Secularists should be laughing all the way to bank.

what a horrible observation?? Why do u put bits and pcs of such crap news which you get to hear from currupted politicians? Well, one thing is clear. Regardless to the different regions there, many ppl visit sabarimala. For example, the great malayalee singer K.J. yesudas - even if he is born as a X'tian, - he visit Sabarimala as he strongly believe in Sree Ayyappan. That doesn't mean the Devaswam board fiddle around with the "kaanikka" petty of Ayyappan. Even a devotee don't dare to act any mischief over there. This is for your information. Pls correct your wrong idea about sabarimala devotee fund! Let ayyappa bless you.

Its a joke when you say that the Devasom Board's money is going to Christians in Kerala, and also how did you arrive at the statistics that Hindus are a minority in Kerala. Get your facts right before you pen rubbish. I guess thats asking for too much isnt it ?

Yes, Hindus form only 22%of Kerala's population. Muslims and Chirstians form the majority, but ironically enjoy minority status.

Dont pilgrim .... Dont pray.. get peace of mind
by cheriyan jacob on Dec 20, 2007 11:03 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Those who dont believe themself go to all these places.. sabarimala, mecca, velankanni or holy land. If you dont pray you get maximum peace of mind. Praying and meditation are different. Meditation is excercising you mind thru deep thinking. Pilgrimage and praying are with selfish motive. We teach our children the same.. if you bribe God with money / prayers you will pass the exam or gain prosperity in life.

mine was a blanket comment. not only about sabarimala. Gods have lots of demand these days because of extreme levels of lyfestyle. Those people around such pilgrim places and those govts make money out of it. I pity those whoc dont understand this. you know about the aravana controversy happening in kerala? about those who minting money out of it? Sit at your room itself and pray / meditate. God is with you.

It's exactly the opposite of what you say. Those who believe in themself only go to these places. Because to meet & win over the challenge posed for physical and mentl toughness. God is there always for all of us.

What about Mecca in Saudi Arabia

Just in Bakrid alone more than 25 million pilgrims from ALL COUNTRIES visit Mecca and another 20 million visit annually is less noticed, which gives me an idea how they did the work.

Also, Bakri Id is a term in South Asia. The correct word is Eid ul-Adha which is celebrated as a commemoration of Prophet Ibrahim's (Prophet Abraham's) willingness to sacrifice his son Ismael for God.

Secondly, pilgrims don't go for Eid ul-Adha, but they go for Hajj.

The article represent a very good analysis of the beliefs one has in one's religion. This is the diversity of the faith. Though the article has missed some more Names, which are also equally important. Many may differ with the article, it is that very faith that is driving the universe. Hats up to the persons who have done the study.

Dude - where is the southern ego here. Since when did Kali Temple and Kasi become part of South India. And just so you know, Tirupati is not in Tamil Nadu, its in AP. I guess you need to know that anything south of the Vindhyas is not Tamil Nadu.
Get out of rediff and go to wikipedia/google - learn about India, get back to school and have a look at the maps of India. Most importantly - get a life you uncultured insensitive egoistic piece of trash.

Sabarimal - worlds most visited holy spot.
by Suri Kiron on Dec 19, 2007 09:35 PM  Permalink

sabarimala is definitely the world's most visited holy spot, but you cannot claim this holy spot as a tourist destination.sabarimala has its own santity, one should not go there as a tourist, but should follow certain sacrifices to be at the sanctum sanctorum.
