"As a consequence, the IITs were admitting some who were selected not because of their true academic abilities and potential, but more because of their skill in 'gaming' the system," At last though it is personnel opinion of one of the iit's top personne, in principle it seems to be agrreed they are rather admitting wrong oriented gaming students. Hope the change will be better and admit right kind of students, who can engineer to mould our country to fulfill the dreams of Dr KALAM's 2020. Best of LUCK to all of us

This message comes from a student who cleared JEE 20 years ago. When we took coaching for JEE, we were exposed to problems of such calibre that would make the best of our school teachers sweat. Solving problems for JEE required levels of comprehension far above that required for normal 12th standard. We hoped that some day the standard of normal ciricullum would rise to a level wherein additional coaching will not be required.
Alas! The need for coaching is now being eliminated by bringing down the standard of JEE. What else can you expect in a land of Mandals, VP singhs and Arjun Singhs.
A decade from now the IIT's will be stinking of shit!!
I am a student preparing for JEE's n all and i think that this so called pattern change will not any difference in the quality of students selected next year.
The change in the pattern has been seriously desired. It's one thing that going to Kota is not affordable. But above that it becomes a curse on the most beautiful school life. Instead one could have learnt a lot of practical knowledge & had light time with friends at school become bound to succumb to a room studying just Physics, Chemistry & Maths. No parental support & loose even the teacher's support as teacher's to student ration go haywire. Leading to un necessary infinite stress. There comes a certain amount of paradigm shift as soon as one passes the metriculation hurdle. But such change forces the shift in totally undesired direction.
So, changes are warmly wecomed as soon as it favours the students going to school to & enjoying their studies normally.
* P.S> - These are strictly my personal opinions based on my stay at Kota for 8 months in 2004. Not meant to be used against any entity.
Some points regarding ITT JEE Exam 1. Who appear to IIT JEE. Tutions will start after 10th, upto 10th they should have 90+ for entry level. It doesn't mean 90+ should be reduced. My point is " there should be some common education level from primary and secondary in terms of economy and subject"
" IF all IITs give concern about this it will be usefull" I mean they can give prefarance to secondary and primary education and then take it to heigher level.
2.Who come from rural and other remote places it is difficult to meet the requirements. It doesn't mean they were not cable of .. 3.So many private engineerings are doing better then IIT students.
IIT is right now in bucket of Kota coahing classes.Classes Like Basal, ressonance are making easier for students of ordinary level but having good financial suport from family. There could be possibility of nexus between these classes & IITs some people for which the success rate of Kota classes is very high I have seen some students staying for Kota for 3 to 4 years, not attending the collages though enrolled in 11th or 12th ,as collages also have link with these classes. Students daily goes to Classes for 6 to 8 hours and attendance is marked in collages. IIT should address this as this is not pramoting talent. If possible Medical council should also learn from IIT and shall make restricted appearance of CPMT /PMT exams.
This change is certainly better and reduce the stress to the iit aspirants. But there should not be any compromise in standard of the objective type questions because this is the only distinguishable factor with the other engineering competiotion.
It is good that the pattern is not fixed so as to avoid rote methods .
But the exam should be two stage so that limited number of candidates appear so that there are limited exam centers thus reducing chances of paper leakage.
