HRA when not working/ on loss of pay leave
by on Jan 12, 2007 12:11 PM  Permalink

I was on a loss of pay leave for the months of Aug-Sept and then on a break from Oct-Dec and joined back job after that(in Jan). I would like to understand how it works in this case. Are the rent reciepts for Aug-Sept/Oct-dec counted.. if yes, how?

Yes.But, if any of the spouse either husband or wife is holding a govt. home in his or her name than he or she can not have HRA. In short if both the spouse (husband and wife) are not holding govt. accomodation in their names than HRA are entitled.
