Degree Vs. Work Experience
by Rameshwar Mehrotra on Oct 31, 2006 01:38 PM  Permalink

I would like to state that both has its own importance.

If the candidate is a fresher and trying to get the job at that time degree is very important so that the person is having atleast base of knowledge which can be shaped as per the professional requirement.

If there is a candidate who has good work experience then instead of going on degrees we can check professional abilities of he person. In most of the cases real life work experiences proved better than bookish knowledge.

So Degree and Work Experiences are two different measurement criteria for two different type of potential candidates looking for a job.

Degrees or work experience
by Pranali P Pawar on Oct 31, 2006 01:18 PM  Permalink

Today experienced peoples are more in demand than freshers. Every firm wants there business to progress so definitely they wil think of people who have practical knowledge more than the theoretical knowledge. But what about Freshers then? If each industry demand for the experienced employees then where the freshers will go. Today most of the graduates. post graduates land up working in call centers, not because of money but majority of them dont get a job related to there field. As soon as they get a job in there field they leave call center. So that is the reason every now and then there in vacancy in each and every call center. I myself is a post graduate in biology along with the diploma in clinical research. For more than 1 year for a job in clinical research organization, but whenever I have gone for an interview in top most companies they want the experienced peoples. Now from where I should get the experience if everyone demands for the professionals? Will working in call center will count my experience, definitely not. There are few lucky peoples and few strugglers, I dont know how long I have to struggle? Sometimes I think about those kids who are in school days now.what is there future after 10 years. Will all of them will be employed? Wil they will be satisfied whichever work they do? Sometimes destiny plays a major role.

by anurag on Oct 31, 2006 01:11 PM  Permalink

Degree doesnt matter if are going to launch your business or company. But if you want to join another's one then that person doesnt know much about you, so he gives importance to degree + work experience.

In my point of view practical knowledge is more important than theoretical coz a practical man can solve or understand problems quickly and give solution immediately.

Degree or work experience
by Gagnesh Sharma on Oct 31, 2006 12:40 PM  Permalink

According to me degree is the foundation on which our future depends. If our foundation is not good than there will be a problem in learning practical also. Exceptions are also there.

Yes Degrees is always high.
by Suresh on Oct 31, 2006 12:40 PM  Permalink

This is my experience. I did my UG & PG through Distance learning. Because my financial position was not good when I was a student.

Now I did my MBA and having good experience in IT. But I unable to get a chance to work in good corporates only because, I am having a full time degree.

So from my experience, I learnt Degrees is always high than the experience or knowledge.
