what i think after graduating from reputed college with the experience u acquire over a period of time that really counts n personally what i feel work experience would be my ultimate choice
Neither degree nor experience work, it all depends on how one encash it; provided your fate should favour you in both.
Its always better to start early and then try to encash both the degree or experience.
One should be very well able to understand facts & tacts in his concerned field and always keep your goal in your mind and then approach.
The more practical you are, the more perfect you will be in your profession and you will be successful to encash your degree or experience in due course of time.
I think work experience matters the most, because degrees are theory based and work is knowledge based and practical. I say it is 80% Work experience and 20% degree
Degrees or work experience? Its always found that DEGREES are prefered. ACUTAL RElity....HANDS ON MINDS ON EXPERIENCE is the best output then degress...A grassroot level worker can become CHAIRMAN but a degree holder can rise in his/her area. I belive degress alone are of no use and hence experince should count and ALSO COUNTS.
Books can tell you what people have experienced. They can give you loads of information on all topics. But books can not make you experience and learn. It is you who have to make decisions and face the outcome, then again make decisions based on the results and the cycle continues You learn while you experience.
Degrees are not important at all. If a person is an expert in a particular field, he will be at a place he deserves to be in inspite of not having a degree. It is not the qualification but the knowledge and wisdom that matters. Degrees can give you knowledge but experience tells you how to use your knowledge. Today information can be had from varied sources. So it eliminates the need of having a degree. Degrees are more of a certificate that you studied this for so and so years. It is useful for companies in selection process for employees. But I have seen people excel in their career inspite of not having a degree or excelling in a field other than the field of their under-graduate degree.
But not all are experts. Degrees are necessary for the larger lot to have a common platform to judge average people. Extra-ordinary will excel anyway. Degrees dont matter.
I really feel Work Experience.Basic Qualification's are necessary to understand the world rest is what you DO.Jisske paas Paissey Hain / Scholarship students go for Degrees.For others Brains work faster than Pockets.
Experience holders should be given Honorary Degrees in there fields after proper scrutiny.Indian Education system should atleast change now.Why students should work so hard to find a proper path to take up afer 12 years of regular education.The Government should think of giving employment leading to Income in a Family, rather than investing in creating Post of Chancellors & Directors(by Qualification)
We should look beyond what the Britishers had left for the Indians \\\"The Clerk system education\\\".they actually wanted Clerks, so they brought in Bachelors education in relevant field.But IT system in India has proven Brains in India.

Experience is a on-going learning process whereas primary education is to build the foundation of fundamentals over which one gains the experience. The better the foundation the better would be the experience. I firmly believe that education is the foundation with experience to take it forward for life.
I think the work experience is more useful than the degree. But one can gain experience only when he gets the chance to work and for getting that chance one should have some theoretical knowledge about the fields he or she is intend to go.
Once you starts working then only you faced the problems that comes in ur way, the solution for that problem can be solved by taking an advice from more experienced person.
This is a way by which one can learn.
But initially some knowledge is important to gain an experience.
Degrees are inadequate and what we need is work experience.We run a operation and maintenance organisation for Gas Compressors and we have found experience is the key rather then degrees
To me both work experience & degree play an important role.But work experience a shade more Degree is like the admission ticket to write the exam
===> exam==>work experience
===> admission ticket==> degree
A person having work experience will have practical exposure to the working environment,work culture,ethics,interaction with peers where as deree without experience is like a soup without salt.Just as salt is needed to make soup tasty work experience will be an added advantage.
