by etharome on Oct 23, 2006 09:19 PM  Permalink

losing temper at work one of my bad behaviour from my co-workers and colleagues.but i am doing my job honestly, respectively and respect my colleagues as well.but the thing who ever working with myself doesn't care about work, but when the boss come in,they are acting like, they are busy everytime, even company never realise my point of view.i thought reason i lose my temper whenever am getting busy, am honest in my work.and one more thing.,most of the time i never ask sorry or appologies, reason whoever make me angry they are not professional, and even if they want do the job right way, they never did once.Am spiritually am very good, because of my family member and my parents.and also i didn't like the female co-workers,reason if they need somthing they use nice word like(honey, darling)after they doesn't care, when we need somthing.

presently am working in london.basically from india.
profession : head chef in restaurant.

Is any limit ?
by Bankunth on Oct 23, 2006 10:51 AM  Permalink

I am fully agree with your article but any limit to tolerate boss attitude. I was work with a company where my boss as well as subordinate both ware leady & only graduate. I am the only person who is 10 years of Exp & MCA. but in 5 yrs she got triple salary but not mine. work wise i am very busy but apex management did not recognized my work & always give me suggestion for tuning with my boss which always humiliate me. ultimately I resigned the company..

Dear Dr anand,
The same is happening with me as well and sometimes I also feel very frustrated but I know our way of working is better and gives long term results. We might not be able to produce immediate results as expected by the management but our way of working build teams and being a sportsman I can tell you teamwork produces better output. Some people work less and shout more but others give good performance and avoid being in limelight. Our calmness and politeness is considered as a sign of aggressivelessness but I know it is the most important charaterstic of a good manager and if a manager happens to be a doctor then he is supposed to be like this.
I am quite sure that there is something better waiting for us.

How to control one's anger
by K.Umamaheswaram on Oct 18, 2006 11:20 PM  Permalink

It is not all true and correct that who does not lose anger at work is good. A person ought to get
rarely and sometimes, when it is required. An expression on anger is sometimes helpful to the body.

The steps I take to avoid such situations is good planning of work on ABC analysis. I always do the
the following to avoid stress thereby reduce anger.

(1) take full breath to pump oxygen to all parts of body, particularly, lung, and other parts above the belt.
(2) Take more water to avoid stress/anger
(3) use your natural calls, which will ease tension

I always keep quiet for 10 minutes before I start
my work to enable me to do the important things first.

This will help a lot to avoid anger.

Plan your journey to officer 30 minutes before to
traffic jams and late to the officer.

Plan 30 minutes before when you want leave the office.

long
by tryufy on Oct 18, 2006 06:46 PM  Permalink

Long and hectic work schedules, lack of sleep, colleagues you dislike, a domineering boss -- these and other factors could lead to one becoming snappy at work. The result -- we slam doors, yell at co-workers, pull faces, snap at our boss, and end up saying things we may regret later.

It takes years to build up a reputation, and only seconds to destroy it. No matter what, you shouldn't snap. Replace negative emotions with self-confidence and manage difficult situations with grace. Here's how you can keep your emotions under control at work and maintain an unblemished reputation.

whenever you tend to loose your temper , first always analyse the root cause y did you lose your temper , and understand the gravity of that , chalk down the responible people for this and then zero down on the issue, This will help you to spend some time on that and by the time you would coll down, and when you know who is the responsible person you can put the ball back into his court . This will solve the issue also and will justify you losing your temper or coll. analyse, chalk out , and allocate to responsible people.

Temperament/Anger
by Nitin on Oct 18, 2006 03:01 PM  Permalink

I think all the companies have to work on Anger Management seriously and do the things which make the staff positive and possess good attitude towards the boss and other colleagues.
I am a short-tempered guy and therefore, I must say that in every company a zone which is dedicated to persons of short-temperament at work is there so that employees do get some relief. My idea is that a room with a boxing sandbag so that when a person feel anger or irritated, he get some relief by practicing some good punches.
One advantages of this zone is that company have a track of persons who visit such zones and how frequently and accordingly take suitable actions.

Though I dont have such zone in my company but believe me if it is, then I think I have the ability to challenge Mike Tyson for a boxing match.

Have a nice day.

Yes, one should not lose temper, while in office or anywhere else. A single leak can sink the whole ship.

Bye
