Status on SEVIS if I-20 for admission received but did not join
by Ashish on May 29, 2006 08:25 AM  Permalink

Dear Sir,

I applied for an Undergrad course in 2003 at 2 US Universities. Both sent me the I-20 with the SEVIS number. However my travel visa was rejected and I could not join either University. Now I am in Canada, and whenever I travel to US on a tourist visa, I am asked a lot of questions.
Is this because the 2 Universities may not have removed my name from SEVIS in 2003 when I did not join and I am still appearing as a US student in the SEVIS records?
What do I need to do now to set matters straight?

Legal question.
by Eric Nadirshah Patel on May 02, 2006 09:34 AM  Permalink

My daughter went to USA on Fiance Visa. Her husband registered the marriage and settled. After a year now, the boy is seeking separation for no fault of our daughter. We all tried for patch up or reconciling but to no avail. Our daughter has received her Green Card and she is doing a very good job as a Para-Legal Assistant in a Law firm doing insurance cases. Our daughter is worried that she might have to return back to India, which she would not want. She wants to live in USA and make her future, as she will become permanent at her job. Please advise the consequences to my daughter if a separation is claimed by her husband and also let us know the settlement which she is eligible in such a circumstance. Thank you..
