Dear Satya,
Its great that you are plan to do your management and are zeroing down Amity Business School, Noida for the same.. Let me help get some facts straight for you..
After reading lots of comments from people on the messaage board..it totaly underline the difference between PERCEPTION and ACTUAL.
SATYA, Amity is an institute which successfuly runs courses right from Primary classes (i.e.kindergarden) to primary education to graduation to post grads...Phd etc.
In graduation they have BBA, Engg, Biotech, Masscom, etc, IN Post Grads they have MBA, BioTech, Event Mgmt, Masscom, etc... they run more than 52 courses and MY DEAR FRIENDS IN THE MERE 12 YRS OF COMMENCEMENT OF THIS GROUP..TODAY THE STUDENT STRENGTH GOES ABOVE 20,000... DO the numbers defy truth..infrastucture..growth...then i think all major co's bluechips defy it....
Regarding rich brats n beauties... let me put it straight... one sees all one wants to see...incidently Amity has its courses running in same campuses...hence people see students from Primary edu...and BBA, etc..mind it frinds Amity International School And its BBA programs are one of the most desired destinaions ofparents of Delhi.& out station...

Amity is worth Nothing..!!
by Abhishek Sharma on Jun 24, 2006 12:11 AM  Permalink

I donât have any personal problems with anyone but I think almost all the readers with pro-Amity cause have not been through detailed study of the institution. Just because their peers, parents & other business magazines have shared something doesnât means Amity becomes the champion of all masters. Over last few years I found out the students passing from Amity did not get the right amount of package their were entitled to.
I myself have 5yrs exp. In sales & marketing. I found that none of the counselors or the Dean in Amity could assure me that after spending 5+ in MBA, Iâd be entitled to a lucrative package of 4+ (atleast). Tall claims & plane Jane assurances landed in my lap.
Specifically speaking, a close colleague of mine, joined Amity few years back got into HSBC, now into middle mgt. inspite of the fact that heâd prior 9 years experience in marketing & sales. Heâs now handling the major arm of HSBC abroad.
If everything is to be handled & managed by candidates then why are we taking admission into Amity? Obviously the reason is that weâre looking a tie-breaker in our premium salaries from these plush B-schools. But they are just minting money & giving false, fake claims.

Amity sucks
by arpit on Jun 23, 2006 08:55 PM  Permalink

Reasons why i dont recommend Amity

1) Not recognised by AICTE, actually derecognised last year
2)Private college
3)unheard of faculty
4)lack of infrastructure
5)backdoor entries

Positives
1)will get you a placement for sure..doesnt matter even if it is in a call centre

amity charges u too high and wen u look at the returns u ll realize tht the same amount invested in fixed deposits or any businesses should fetch u more.

Mba from Amity
by Shweta Mittal on Jun 22, 2006 12:58 PM  Permalink

Amity business school is not definitely a top b-school, bust yes it is much better than many b-schools in the country. If you have the better option than its OK otherwise Amity is not a bad choice.
It is one of the costliest MBA in the country and in the recent past they got very bad publicity which really affected its image.
Moreover the management of ABS doesnt seems to be serious for improving the quality of its faculty. They are spending huge amount of money in ads but the same money can be spent in attracting much better faculty and improving the library and other infrastructure. (Although building is good but academic infrastructure is poor).
Campus placements are there but of low quality.

VM,
I have no clue how u define maturity. From ur thots in the previous comments, i am sure ur in dire needs of some urself. Plus if u just read n try n understand what u actually wrote u'll realise that u eventually ended up comparing IMT/NMIMS/TAPMI and AMITY by referring them as the 'Next 20 bschools'. I am sure effective communication skills was one subject they taught u at AMITY. Well i know u have done ur MBA but my frnd, u see statistics hides much more than it reveals. So there's a lot of difference between the top 20 colleges and the next 20. This is not something that u can quantify so easily. Also if my comments stop some1 from joinin AMITY and going to some school which offers him the same knowledge/placements as AMITY at half the costs, boy i am sure i'll make it to the heavens for that.
