Go to SBI and fill one from ...your account will be opened....and go to Post office and deposit money you will get certificate of NSC of same amout

No before reading this post, i was unaware about NSC policy. But now i feel that it's best than other policies. I'll discuss to my village's postmaster. Thanks mahesh kumar

What is the difference between the two scenarios mentioned below:
"Generally, it is advisable to declare accrued interest on NSC on a yearly basis. So, over the period of six years, you could declare the interest income for each year. In such cases, it does not amount to a huge sum. If you do not declare the interest on an accrual basis, then the entire interest earned (difference between the amount deposited and the maturity value) would accumulate in the year of maturity. You could then claim it under Section 80C, but it would be a huge amount and would be taxable at the current applicable tax rate."
How would declaring it yearly or once at the very end be different?
i am dr mitul bora.this month i will get my arear from sgpgi, lucknow(6th pay commision arear).but they want a NSC account or PPF.kindly let me know how i can open it.presently i am working as a senior resident doctor at all india institute of medical sciences,new delhi(AIIMS)

i dont think u r doctor, if u do 2 minutes srch on google, then it would let u know that it is opened in Post Office! and one more thing, there is equal rate for all, whether u r doctor or something.

You can open PPF account from Post Office or SBI Bank. Or You can buy NSC from any Post Office.
