lucky - from bhavan
by Sanjay on Aug 05, 2006 07:53 PM  Permalink

hi,
myself sanjay and i have studied in Marshall University from west virginia, usa. This university runs in collaboration with bhartiya vidya bhavan in bangalore. And offers masters in business administration.

About the MBA program:
The course was quiet good, even the study pattern was quite good. The faculty was of the best since they were coming from the marshall university itself. In regarding to the cost, it was expensive but since the faculty were mostly from the US university one has to adjust with that.

however regarding placements, it is almost nil....
steps havent been taken at all.

by M.GUNESH on Aug 05, 2006 07:31 PM  Permalink

It is very interesting article and educative.
The details to be obtained before we decide the course and University.
It will be more interesting to know the the sites where the information on credentials of the unversity can be find out. If any American University Verifivation sites available and any other verifications can be possible through internet may be suggested. This will be helpful to the students as well as parents to check.
I shall be thankful if u can mail these details,
Thanks for good knowledge which is very much in need of today

Contd.....
I am working abroad and writing the topics after careful analysing and discussion with students who are studying abroad.

The students who go abroad and take degrees from popular institutions and after graduation they are not considered for work in U.K or U.S.A.The overseas students in U.K generates 5 billion pounds an year.

Then how does a non popular institution does a degree course in India will be helpful.

About Abroad Education
by Swarani Bhattacharjee on Aug 01, 2006 08:45 PM  Permalink

Dear All,

No Im not a student nor have I done any PG course from any abroad University. Only after my Masters in English, I have pursued a "Business English Certificate Course" (BEC) from Cambridge University which is purely professional.

But to introduce myself, I am an International Education Counselor runing my own organisation, "Divine Consultancy Services at present in Kolkata. I have 8 years of vast experience in Abroad Education - have been working in renowned organisations in Delhi , Mumbai & Kolkata.

What my experience says, though Indian students have craze for US & Canada but UK degrees are much more recognised globally. Degrees from 5 or 5* or 20-24 TQA rated universites will fetch job in big corporate sectors. But yes JOb depends on personality, versatality of an individual & of course the degree certificate one holds along with the recognition of the university. Still getting jobs & PR in Australia is easier in comparison to the other countries.

Studied at a US College Mumbai Campus
by Vaibhav Shete on Aug 01, 2006 06:48 PM  Permalink

I have studied from a US Based college known as Champlain College based in Vermont US. The College is offering Software Engg as well as BBA courses here in India. The Course is quite comparable to BE (IT) Degree here in India, with some advance subjects like JAVA and Systems Analysis. Unlike Indian Degree's however US under graduate degrees are not completely technical based and thus there are other general subjects not related to any of the Major concern. US Universities also are better than Indian Universities with their compulsory Internship at an undergraduate level (Students thus get Industrial Experiance as a part of their studies).

what i feel is that it is a money making step of foreign institutions ,otherwise HOWit is possible for any uni/instt. in the world to certify an individual for degrees even PH D,within seven days if you send the money approx 600 USD onwards.
