I work in a company which does not pay HRA.My total Salary is Rs200000 per year.I stay in a rented house.I pay a rent of Rs 1500 per month.Is there any manner in which I can claim tax excemption for the rent paid?If so how much? Please calculate and let me know.With regards.Rajagopalan

Sir, can me and my wife both working in central government & public school respectively claim hra separately from each employer. is there any rule to stop one of the employer from paying hra to its employee. if so can the one who gets higher rate hra can claim by stopping the other's. kindly give details in the mail id given above

What about the maintenance charges which we are paying as society charges? Can we claim this in HRA? Even if we have a house still this claim can help the ladies who are widowed and maintaing the house expenses.
