You can claim your LTA to travel anywhere in the country (Including Andaman and Nicobar and Lakshwadeep islands). It does not matter if you are travelling to your native place. What matters is that you submit your round trip journey tickets to a place in the country.
The total article seems not okay. LTC is applicable to husband or wife not to both. Both members cannot claim LTC in part also. Yearly tax exemption as mentioned os not clear. Parents are eligible if they are dependent ie. having monthly income less than Rs 1501.00.
Can I club two LTA entitlements and avail tax benefits for both in a block of 4 years,i.e. if my annual LTA amount is Rs.10,000, can I avail Rs.20,000 deduction, by clubing two years, say 2006 & 2007,in C.Y.2007 and again for two years,2008 & 2009, in C.Y.2009, within the block of 4 years.
