Lta clarifications(block of years)

1)i have not claimed an LTA till now(From Jan 2006 till March 2008), so will i be able to claim LTA continuously for the reamining 2 years(i.e For 2008 and 2009)
2) since the Lta is for a calender year.. can i produce the LTA bills for tavel in 2009 for tax exemptions in march 2010

please replay ASAP

IF I WILL GO ON LTA IN JAN'2008. COULD I GET EXEMPTION FOR THE ASSESSMENT YEAR 2008-2009.FURTHER IF I WILL GO ON LTA IN THE MONTH OF OCT'08. CAN I CLAIM EXEMPTION FOR THE ASSESSMENT YEAR 2009-2010.

In case an employee wants to avail LTA on casual leave from 21 till 25th december but he wants to avail 2 days leave only as 21st is a restricted holiday, 23rd is sunday and 25th is gazetted holiday.so for how many days can he claim LTA for as he is travelling from 21st december?

In case some one wants to claim LTA for 5days journey but he actually applied for 2 days leave i.e 2 days are restricted holidays and one is sunday, so total days are 5 days.In this situation can he claim LTA for 5 days or only 2 days if it is a Casual leave.

I would like to know whether tax exempted LTA can be claimed in two consecutive years in a bloack i.e if someone claims tax exempted LTA in 2006, Can he/she claim tax exempted LTA in 2007 as well?

First of all, LTA is for Calendar Year and not Financial Year. So if you have claimed in 2006, then you can claim it again on 2007. Provided, that's the second and last claim for 2006-09 block.
