The Coorg experience has been always great. Coorg is one place where you will fall in love again. The newly created cottages just next ro Dubare Elephant Camp are beautiful with nice furniture and dining place over flowing cauvery. This is Jungle Lodges and Resort's new venture. They also give elephant interpretation package to all intrested. Other places to stay are Orange County and Mahindra resort.

Why no one is giving any info about hotel accommodation in Coorg and the rent in the hotels
by Manoj Kumar T on Jul 09, 2006 12:23 PM  Permalink

Your messages tempt us to go to Coorg, but I wonder why you people are not giving any info about hotel accommodation, rentals, and about food in Coorg.

Please post these details also to make tempted to go to Coorg.

Coorg is one of the unspoilt tourist destination in the south, the potential as a tourist hotspot is immense, sadly the government of karnataka has not made genuine attempts to tap the potential.Immidiate concern should be the roads.Less said the better.Power situation is pathetic,we should be aways be prepared for darkness.Government should learn the way Goverment of Kerala has marketed the state.

Coorg!
by Uthappa on Jul 08, 2006 10:29 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I am a native of Coorg. One of the beautiful places on earth. However, its better to avoid Coorg from June to September. It really rains heavily and rains all day and night. You'll not be able to enjoy anything other a hot cup of coorg coffee and watching the rain in lush green background. The best time to visit is Nov to Jan. The mist, the coffee plantations and mountains will make you speechless!

If you happen to visit madikeri, make it a point to visit nisarga dhama, an island created by cauvery. This is developed by the govt. of karnataka, which offers cottages for staying admist forest. you can enjoy an elephant ride and a great spot for children.

I got a chance to drive all the way coorg on a long weekend. The sleepy city, lush green hills and great people are attractions of coorg.

Highly recommended, if you just wish to enjoy nature and watch time go past you.

Coorg...Corrg.....

Coorg is the one of the best places i had visited in karnataka western ghats. Dont miss to book a cottage in the nisargadama (Karnataka tourism's) forest, the experience of staying and spending the time in the cottage is amazing. Other places you can enjoy the most is abbey falls and irruppu falls. Abbey falls is a picnic kind of place where you cant play in water. But irrupu falls you can play in water and it tests you body strength once you stand exactly at the bottom point of the falls.
Visit the budhist monstry exactly inbetween 12 noon to 1 p.m and feel the difference you will be totally in different world.
There are lot of very good trekking places in and around this place.
Best time to visit the place is sep- january.
If you go in summary surely you will be little disappointed.
