Ofcourse Net telephony is a boon in today's tech. world. Yahoo and other service providers are much popular and PC - PC calls are much more effective than Pc - Landline or Mobile calls. Where Pc - Pc calls are free, but it needs both the person to be logged ON and registered. whereas dialling to landline or Mobile can be fine, but in cases when Phone lines are interrupted then then it might have problems in communiation. Therefore not all of us ca use the latest service. So people should first understand their needs and the way it can be processed. Based on the plan one should proceed futheer as in today's market research everyone wants to save but on the same time work shoould be done.
I think that if you have msn messenger or yahoo messenger then everybody can do voice chat free there is no need to buy calling card. I am doing this from the last seven years.
I had my own douts on using any Internet telephony service for reasons like voice quality and charges applicable as I wanted to pay by credit card but then I decided based on savings I can make on this technology. I requested for phonewala calling card online and I got the carddelivered at my home, i was impressed and then when I used these services for the first time I was amazed that my brother could not diffrentiate, he thought I am making call from normal phone and was asking us to cut short the discussion on every topic when I told him that I was using a Phonewala Internet telephony calling card and It gives me a call to USA at 2 per minute and he said the quality is wonderful and there after its always Phonewal for last 6 months.

If you want to do MS then you will need a GRE and TOEFL score. If you need any financial assistance then you have to convert your visa status to F1. It is not necessary to do anything if you dont want to go for it. In case you dont want to pursue MS then try to find a employer who can sponser H1-B for you.
Calling from yahoo is dirt cheap. Use Yahoo Phone out service. Call US at 1 cent per minute (means less than 50 paise per min). Call India from anywhere in the world at 0.12 cent per min (means less than Rs 6 per min) select cities in india are offered less than Rs 4.50 per min. Information given about yahoo in this article is not adequate to encourage pc to phone calling. Off Course skype is the best in terms of quality of voice transfer.
Hi, If you are making call from PC-PC use googletalk instead of Skype as Skype take up lot of bandwidth and if your are on limited quota broadband you end up paying more on excess limit.But note googletalk will not allow to make calls from PC-Landlines as Skype does. Rediff bol allows to send 3 message free to any mobile in India.
All these internet phones are crap. They have much higher rates than calling from a calling card using a telephone to India. Reliance India call offers $12.9 per minute.
Why would someone that too in a developed country like USA where everyone has a telephone want to call from a PC when the same is available with much lesser rate from a telephone.
yes true...these services indeed have made communication easier and cheaper...
u also have globe7 which is as good as skype....also u can earn free talktime...
however, by far skype is the best as it is very convenient.....you can easliy reload it ....they have a lot of payment options ...which makes it very flexible .....(not everyone has a debit or credit card so you can even pay by cash or bank transfer)
