Hello Sir,Ma'am, I am 24/M. I secured a PhD admission at the CS Dept - Univ. of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) in spring-2007. I'm a computer engineer working as a Sr.Software Engineer since the past 2.5 years in Pune & in Toronto Canada (5 months) on Java/J2EE. I am in a dilemma whether to join the full time PhD course at the UNL or to choose some other option (like part-time degree). I also have an invitation to join a US based company as Programmer/Analyst on H1B starting Feb 2007. Can you please suggest me help on the following queries - 1. What are the prospects of getting jobs after I complete my Post Graduation/PhD from the UNL? 2. If you can give your suggestions about my next steps from a personal perspective with regard to my current situation at hand, it will be great. Do you think perusing a PG degree is helpful in getting better job offers & getting better opportunities later in the US or do you think I should join the job offered to me on H1B visa & pursue a part-time PG degree. In that case, is it necessary to be living at Lincoln? Looking forward to your reply, Vaibhav, Pune

I am now in final year B.Tech. (Electrical, Electronics and Engg.). My three years' percentage is 59.6. I have scored 260 in TOFEL and my GRE is 1250. My friends' say that since I could not secure first class or 65% in my three years, my chances of getting admission in a good college is remote. Can You please guide me? I intend to study further in MS (Electrical Engg.) in US. What would be the colleges where I could secure admission.
My brother is currently pursuing his MSc in Mech.Engg. in one of the UK Universities.
