Please give a search in google with proper keywords pertaining to your field of study. You will get a list of universities offering that program. Surf through their websites, and you will all information regarding the application process. The more research you do from the websites, the better would be your understanding of the program and the application process.

Hi Divya,

My suggestion would be to check out the programs you wish to join and contact the admissions office in the departments at the universities directly. Usually they are very prompt in replying to genuine queries regarding admission. The process will be the same though, u need to give the SAT and then take it from there.

All the best!

Admission for Externship in U S Hospitals
by J. Mehta on Aug 06, 2006 04:28 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

My daughter is undergoing internship in Mumbai, after completing her MBBS.

She is desirous of coming to US, for Post graduation in Surgery.

We understand , she can take up extership programme for 12 months, and then get into Post Graduation course in US. during her 12 months programme she would give USMLE step 1 and 2. She is taking GRE and TOEFL in Aug. and Sept. 2006.

Also some suggestions have come to join Public Health or undertake RESEARCH there.

Also inform, if possible the cost ofall these courses and whether one can work there.

Where should one stay.

It may sound bothering, but your reply shall be appreciated.

With warm regards,

J. Mehta.

Ask her to clear USMLE part 1 and 2 in india.

While she is doing that apply to different university for Publich health course.

Fee will be somewhere in the higher range of $20000.

She can work on campus for 20hr and once she spend a year in USA, she will be eligible for intership.

She can stay with some indian girls who are already there.

You need 16yrs of education before getting admitted to good school in USA. However, you can give GRE as it is valid for 5yrs. You can either join any institute or prepare urself. Books you will be needing is Barrons GRE and there is a book called "BIG BOOK" published by ETS you can find this book at USEFI.
