My son has been awarded admission in Undergraduate course in Biomedical Engineering in Drexel University, Philadelphia. I would like to know about the future prospect for Biomedical Engineering graduates in US and also in India.

Hello, Drexel is an excellent univ and Biomedical is a hot field. But the tuition fees are very expensive!!! Even taking a loan would be impossible to cover everything. Doing a part-time job is not allowed for undergrad students. Please stick with some good degree in India and come to US for Masters degree. it is easierto manage. -Prof. Sam
Many people want to know about medical studies in US. If you have completed MBBS in India you are eligible to apply for USMLE. There are 3exams. Step1 and Step2Clinical knowledge that can be taken in India. For Step2 CS and Step3 you have to come to the US.
COming to US is one of the biggest hurdles. WHat mos people do is apply for PhD or Masters in a related field of biology or public health and come here on a student (F1) visa. While completing your coursework you can appear for the exams. You also get a degree that will be useful to you for a fellowship. On the side lines you can also get a few american reco letters and US clinical experience. If you get financial aid while you study that will also go a long way. That is one of the best options. IF you are doing a Post graduation you can come here for a poster presentation for a conference. That will give you good contacts and a multiple entry visa to come for exams and interviews.
I dont know much about this route but you can apply to an osteopathic medicine school and then give USMLE.
Many people start liking the research they get into and emerge big guns in fileds like Nanotechnology. Certainly an option to consider
I have got an MBA (Finance) seat in university of california, i have complited my MBA from an indian university and having an expirience of 3 years in a stock broking company in india. Kindly suggest me can i study and work together on the basis of my current experience and pls suggest me if there is any alternative for this. I have also done SAP in BIW, CRM and S&D.

Any student on F1 visa is not allowed to work offcampus. However, you are allowed to work for 20hr on campus.

Hi
A few things, one you cannot technically work and study togehter on a F1 visa. you are allowed to work only on campus that too for a max of 20 hrs a week during academic session and for 40 hrs a week during holidays. so you cannot take up jobs outside campus
further mba is a very hectic course and i would really doubt if you will have enough time to actually work.

If your I-20 mentions that you are on 100% scholarship then you dont need to show any financial support. Just show some. In case your I-20 doesnt say then you have to show.
