I use ICICIDirect for the last year or so. My experience with them has been very very bad. Absolutely dismal. They made changes to my account from the backend and marked the unauthorized transactions as CNT (Call & Trade). Now I have never ever authorized the use of CNT on my account. I found the rouge transaction because I keep detailed offline records. When I saw the CNT trades I immediately called their customer support who kept claiming that since the system is showing CNT I must have used CNT. It is like beating your head against a bloody rock. It has been more than a month and there has been no response to my emails or customer support complaint tickets. Stay away from ICICIDirect.
I would tend to agree with the experience shared by the author of this article. I shared similar experiences with the top guys (ICICI, HDFC) and finally settled for Sharekhan...and no regrets so far.
I too wanted to open a business A/c cum Demat and online trading A/c with Kotak. Their rep came only after I spoke to the Manager.The Rep had absolutely no knowledge about his product and said that since no one from demat was available he, from the savings account opening department, had come to sign and collect the Demat account opening documents. He told me to login to Kotakstreet.com and I could\\\'nt help but Laugh when the response from the Website was Server busy, please try later. On trying later the response was the same. Yet on his persuation and assurance that it is a temporary problem I gave him the ac opening cheque and documents. He came back the next day and brought a Kotak Securities Personnel with him. That personnel was intersted in getting a hefty sum out of me saying that their equity portfolio management was the best in the industry and had given 70% in the last quarter alone. I readily gave him the required amount, and signed the documents. Next week I got a confirmation that the hefty sum a/c was opened but the other A/c for which I had originally called Kotak bank was\\\'nt. The person who picked up the docs had quit Kotak!, Hence!!!!!!!!!
i thought it made interesting reading i have exp with india bulls my self it is not just the cutomer support one of the most imp things u need while trading is the info and facilities for eg- indiabulls trades only in nse and bse is offline. also u have a pathetic facility to view your portfolio. further transfer of money for trading has its own share of problems
