Hi , i want to invest in mutual funds through SIP, if i invest Rs 500 p.m for 1 year (June 09 -June 10). Is it possible to hold the units and sell the units after 5 years.

Yes you can invest in mutual fund and hold it for 5 years and you can sell them, when you need.
i want to for SIP plan of mininmum 1000-2000 range.after 1year how much profit i will get if i take small amount in between means during 1 year completion i get profit or not.where i can start SIP plan

You can go any fund house such as TATA's FIDELITY, KOTAK MAHINDRA ETC.. you can get help from the associates. % of profit cannot be guaranteed here, it depends on how the fund performs. You can start the SIP @ any point of time.

Most of the Fund house provide SIP such as FIDELITY, KOTAK MAHINDRA, SBI, UTI and many more to name them. You can contact any of these service providers for assistance such as, Geogjit, Sharekhan, India Infoline, Karvy Consultancy, UTI, SBI etc...

It depends again on the performance of that particular fund you have invested. You can expect 20-40% but then there is no written guarantee on this. During volatile market, it can give you 8-9% anualy.

It is not advisable to switch funds unless and until you have a very strong reason that your previous fund was not the good one.. Most of the Fund house provide SIP such as FIDELITY, KOTAK MAHINDRA, SBI, UTI and many more to name them. You can also contact any of these service providers for assistance such as, Geogjit, Sharekhan, India Infoline, Karvy Consultancy, UTI, SBI etc, if you plan to buy MUTUAL FUND
Hi i have taken the HDFC Tax saver SIP for 36 installments. Now i want to extend it for very long durtion . is it possible to extend in the middle. let me know . how is it possible ?

Once you finish with your 36 installments, you can write to the company about your plans to hold it for longer period or if you wish to continue your SIP for next 2-3 years.. It is best, you do this once, your 36 installment completes.
