Parentrs usually mix up career guidance for aptitudre test. Article is interesting but too brief, wish Ms. Rao could communicate in some more detail.
It is also desirable that a beginning id made by the child leaves Class VIII or joins Class IX. Class X is a little too late, the mind set of the children will be difficult towork upon.
There is one more thing, that Parents also need to be counselled along with their wards then only the exercise will succeed.
It is a challenge and our schools should take it up seriously. The results will be perceptible in 5/6 years' time, pressure on Engineering/Medial Colleges will reduce, quality of students will also improve.
I wolud appreciate if Dr. Nirmala Rao advises about the best way to educate our children from ill effects of Television Channels, which exposes a lot of skin and sexuality.
I am having a 8 month old babby. I became very much interested by the topic to know about my daughter. But the first topic is about the age at which we have to find her interests, etc. Now I knw when to make her take a decision for her career. Thanks to your team.
The article is quite nice and it is the need of the hour that parents should not impose their will on their children which lead to a great disaster. It is an eye opener for the parents. Thanks.
It bit let to published. It could have been published befor HSC result. Parents are more confused, and worst thing is that they confust more to their childre. Parents need more information about it. Of course academic suceess is not mearely intelligence scale to measure or professional growth but to have positive frame of mind. And in all in short it irrational ignorance. Congratulation for timgly article for result to follow of SSc.
The number of career opportunities today creates the problem of plenty and confusion as to what is good for the individual and not simply aping the trend or the neighbours choice. The peer pressure is rising incredibly with high expectations from the child often breaking the all round healthy psychological growth.
What we need our children to identify is their abilities and focus on their interests and natural choice rather than be a by product of external influence and suffocating life.
Our society certainly needs more of these conseling centers that virtually assist the kids to see through their hazy thinking and build strong individuals
