hi i claimed for lta benefit this year, i used a rented car and claimed a benefit of 18760 but got a benefit of only 7200 from my employer against 24000 allowed. I travelled from delhi to badrinath. Can i get the rest of the exemption from government, if possible how?? Thanks in advance
Hi, As we know we can cliam for LTA after 1 year. But quetion is that: For 1 year days starts from joining date in the company or the confirmation date in the company.
As I had worked for a company for 14 months and cliamed for LTA with document proof. 3 months was the probation periods. Now they are saying You haven't completed 1 years after your confirmation date. So if I reduce my three months probation periods then my total working months are 11 months. So it it true as per the LTA rules.
The scenario is: A Company pays the LTA each year with the salary.
Question: In a block of 4 years, can I submit bills to get tax exemption in any two years? The reason for asking this question is the company says I can claim tax benefit only on 2nd & 4th year. Is it true?

No, it is not necessary that u claim in 2nd & 4th year. As per Income tax, exemptions will be made twice in a block of 4 years that may be any 2 years. As per policy of the company, it may be that company accept claim in 2nd & 4th year.
Please clarify on the number days that has to be on leave to avail the LTA tax exemption. Will i be eligible to avail the benefit if i have taken the leaves for two days (friday and Monday). It brings four consecutive days with the non working days (saturday and sunday). Please advise me if i am in this situation will i be able to get the LTA tax benefit..

Income Tax Act,1961 does not specify about how many days one should be on leave. However, the company in which the employees works governs the leave policy.
