I joined the company on 1st April on probation period for 6 Months. I took leave for 15 days from 10th of april to 25th april. I received the salary without pay for the leave period.
Now i claim LTA for the same leave period in 3rd month of probation. Whether it is eligible and exempt?

LTA claim
by rahul on Jun 23, 2011 08:24 PM  Permalink

I wanted to know that I worked in a company for just less than 2 years and did not claim any LTA. Now that I m leaving the company, is it still my right to get the LTA amount since I haven’t taken a 5 days leave nor have I claimed it yet?
And if yes then will i be paid the whole LTA amount or taxable LTA amount?
Also the HR head has refused to give the LTA amount (don’t know for what reason) but if it is within my rights to get the amount then what step shud i take now?

If a person has annual eligibility of LTA as 20000. He caryys forward his first year's 20000 to next year and then claims thsi 40000 LTA. will this 40000 entirely be non taxable suppose he holds it for 4 years then claims it once which is equal to 80000 then weather this 80000 is exempted or only 20000 20000 = 40000 is exempted

Taxability of LTC for domestic and foreign travel
by SADHVI PANDEY on Mar 21, 2010 07:25 PM  Permalink

If a person visits any place in India and from there he travels abroad and come back to same place or any other place in India and returns back to his home town. Whether the entire LTC will be taxable or only the journey abroad is taxable. There could be two situations - one he has brak up of cost of tkts for domestic and foreign travel. and two he has one tkt. showing place of visits in India and abroad. Pl. clarify.
