Opening a Demat Acct is simple however which Broker do you deal with is important. You can visit a financial advisor & check which players are good. Personally, India Infoline, Sharekhan & Angel are the ones that I have dealt with & found them much responsive. Docs required are: Self Attested PAN CARD Photocopy, Cancelled Cheque & Passport Size Photograph & Acct Opening cheque(Differs with different brokers) Arcadia:Rs.250/-, Angel: Rs.500/- or Rs.540/- Sharekhan:Rs.500/-(As per 2009).... Also ensure that your broker is highly responsive as this is a game of time & prompt attribute..
