Harry Potter Vs Dark Lord
by viveks on Jul 21, 2005 07:44 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It makes me wonder how Harry is going to fight the Dark Lord. It is so obvious that he is not a very bright student, hes brave no doubt, but I somehow get the feeling that hes not all that smart. Almost in all the situations he survives by pure luck or external help.
I assumed he'd have mastered occlumency, but he looked like a fool fightig snape in the end of 'half blood prince' he was worse with 'non-verbal' spells. Is he suddenly gonna catch up with all this over the summer to face the dark Lord, I guess not, facing enemies like Snape and Voldemort is no easy joke. Just being brave and kind at heart is no secret of success, mental acumen is very essential, I hope Hermione stays with Harry and helps him win.
In all Harry Potter series was indeed very impressive, hats off to Rowling.

Bad job

No.. i didnt read the entire article because i want to experience the fear, anxiety and emotions of the circumstances as and when i read the penultimate harry potter. The headline is enough inviting. even people who havent read any of the books will click just to c what the entire fuss is about.. eventually the word will spread and i am sure in a days time someone will call me up and tell me who has died in the book. And worse, he wont even ask me (like you'll) if i want to hear it.. i dont know who else to blame but you for that... bad job guys!!

Hi

I read the whole article. Though not used to spend time reading the whole fat tome, I love to know what happens in the end. One question that lingers in my mind is who is the half blood prince?

You have a very good writing skill and narratory ability for a 17 year old. Keep writing even its good or bad.

Cheers
Thomas

Keeping aside the fact that the writer is a 17 year old, don't you think that the complete story alongwith all the surprises and the climax is a bit too much for a review. A review is something that makes one want to read the book and not a short summary of the contents of the book. Ofcourse I was lucky to have read the book before reading the review, but many readers will not have. So before the readers start a shouting match here, please put this down.
Giving away the plot is a bit too much not to mention illegal. JKR could probably sue you guyz for such a stupid disclosure of the contents of the book.

A point to ponder
by Arvind on Jul 20, 2005 06:38 PM  Permalink

i think rediff could have waited for a few more days before publishing reviews that have spoiler. The serious reader who has yet to finish the book might ignore the review and re-visit it after he finishes reading the review but the review enables the cruel and callous reader to send out spoilers to the not-so-fast readers.

I really do hope i dont get any such spoilers through email.
