About the article - 16 Ayurvedic mantras
by Shiva Prasad on Jul 19, 2005 08:27 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I am an Ayurvedic Physician as well. I appreciate the effort to spread the message of Ayurveda. However, I dont agree with many of the "mantras" mentioned here.
Ayurveda gives importance to digestion and has described qualities of food and drinks in detail.
There is not much mentioning on soya milk, chocolate flavoured drinks, ice cubes in Ayurvedic texts and hence cannot regard them as purely Ayurveda.

Soya Milk
by Savitha on Jul 19, 2005 02:41 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Hi Readers,
Just to include my comment:

Dont include too much of Soya (as in western countries where people, esp women try to replace milk products with soya products). Too much of soya can cause cancer and also problem in women reproductive function. This has been medically proven.

Thanks to Savitha's comment dt.19th july 2005 highlighting the negative effects of Soya products. But remember it has been told to have soya milk in its limits only "Too much of any thing is good for nothing". Though medically proven for its ill effects Soya is definetly reccommended for its high nutritional values. I will be to have a discussion on this and other health matters on my mail id paddu31@rediffmail.com

Hello,
Sir, ayurved do have wide vareity of treatments for hair loss and they have been proven very successful .
Sir, as per ayurved a we always like to look out for ur diet pattern when we deal with any diseases so even in haro loss first before looking for any treatments look out for change of diet.
Try to reduce too hot spicy food prodcuts in ur diet ,stop having too salty things in ur diet like waffers or chips etc.
Try to have an habit to apply any particular oil on ur hair always ,at least at night time.
Lastly always cover ur haris from bright sunlight ,so definatley wear hat or cap to protect the sun rays .
Then u can look out for going for a consultaion for any vaidya whihc u know for ayurvedic treatment.
Healthy Regards
Vd Sudeep Chitnis

Clarification in one point
by Srinivas on Jul 18, 2005 07:42 PM  Permalink

Substitute chocolate-flavoured health drink powders like Bournvita, Complan and Horlicks with plain cocoa powder to add more nutrition value to the drink.

Can you tell me what this means??? Are u asking me to substitute Health drinks with plain cocoa??

Or

Is this a typo error?

Thanks for clarifying

You can consume 1/2 glass or 1 glass of fresh wheat grass juice every early morning (without having regular activities like toobrush). Once juice is taken, it should taken within 15 minutes. If taken very late, its chlorofill value evaporate immediately. Hence you lose its real value.

Search more in internet by giving "Wheat Grass" in google.com You will get ample information.
