My name is Ajay i m working as sales engr. for a MNC company in core mech industries which is a B 2B sales profile , as well i m planning to do MBA in marketing but wht i have read in this discussion board now i m pretty confused for sales and markeing , is it that sales is the first step for marketing and are ther any companies which offer core marketing profile, and if yes which are they?

i attended their session on MS & didnt found much encouraging..Though u will be speacialist in Finance>>u will restrict ur Career in Finance field>>& dis not d case In Finance MBA where u will have electives>>which adds up ur Oppurtunities.. More-over it depends on Individual..if u r determined on Finance Go For it>>Even Placements r higher for MBA(Finance) itself in ICFAI
MBA is not the cource for indepth study rather a comprehenssive& group study.Here u need to be the master in all the functional fields of corporate world.Then only you can exit in the competative era. so ,according to me you should specialise in both the fields that to consider yourself as the master &it helps you ultimately to be the dearer of your boss,customer & helps fulfilling your self auctualisation needs.
i think mrketing is the best option to read rhen comparing to others but only for read as u read a interesting books but when u come into field with the job as a sales executive. its completely difrent. marketing get change into sales.and here u starts facing nightmares in night dreaming about so many cheques.
