i think you are confused about yourself. First of all you need to find what are you good at instead of blindly following others. If you are not good at english, i think u should try in the IT field only.
Also BPO means Business Process Outsourcing.
Chill:-))

well, many of us face this problem before...but i guess the easiest way is to read read and read. dont take hifi books , but simpler ones...go to basics of grammar....and try to speak in english everyday...i know its hard but thats what u hav 2 do...
Dont worry about whether people will laugh on u or not...one day they will praise u..

so dont be afraid...and go ahead!!

i was blown in the first session
by narsingrao on Nov 02, 2005 06:53 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dear Madam/Sir

After telephonic interview,i had to attend personal interview today, unfortunately, i did not fare well in the first phase, which consist of a breif speech about my self, for a minute without any interruption.
as it was my first turn to speech,i stuttered while giving my expressions.my weakness is that i am an introvert person, and cannot come out openly with people who are strange to me,speaking among the people would have led to slight interruption in my speech.
i was told politely to refine my language and go for a second trial next month.
can you lend me tips in this regard.

Dear Narsingrao,
Let me try and help you with whatever inputs I can give. When you are asked to speak about yourself or for that matter any other topic, without any interruption - understand that they meant without interruption - and not without breaks. You can rather should take 6-10 seconds before you start speaking. You can pause for 2-3 seconds between sentences. Keep in mind that you should try and avoid the "and"s and other sounds between sentences. Each sentence should have a fixed start and an end and it should be audible to the audience. The second sentence shouldn't be a continuation of the first and so on - i.e. they shouldn't sound so. Speak to yourself everyday but looking at a mirror. You will see what actions you do with your face when you run out of words. You will be aware of what you do with your hands and feet and you get to correct them. So use a mirror. Remember, any Indian who can speak even a little English is great. Simply because English is second language to Indians. It is similar to getting an American or an European to speak Hindi - literally next to impossible. So, be proud of your skills and try to improve on them. All the best to you.
