Call Cantre
by Monika Sethi on Apr 28, 2005 06:36 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Well,
I am an Indian currently living in London. I came about 18 months back. Before that I was in Switzerland and have till now visited and stayed in many Europen countries.
I myself have done a call centre program from Nottingham, UK and found that though they don't teach anything special but what is really required to be in a call centre is accent of the language. If we hear some one from Delhi speaking english to someone in Hyderabad speaking english to than some one in calcutta speaking english we can easily make out the difference.
Similarly when European or american custoers are put to call centres in India they are not aware of where they are but they are not able to understand a word from the advisor and as a result compalint to the company which in return makes the interviews more difficult.
So more than being fluent in english what is most importantly required in this field is to have an accent/dialogue of the language.

After working for 18 months in nearly 4 different companies, I would suggest every inspiring call centre advisor to listen to alot of BBC radio, European/American English programs. It would definately help you built the accent.

Hai,
Please let me know if it is possible to get employed in UK as a call cantre executive without undergoing any special training ?
I am presently working in Delhi as a CCE in an international call cantre, and will be reaching London within a week to work in a hospital there.
I have the Work Permit from the hospital. Pls advice..
1. Any Call centre training required for doing it as a part time job....
2. Do I require permission from the hospital that will be employing me....

Thank you
Binu
