by Sourav Sain on Jun 27, 2006 09:04 PM  Permalink

As I came to know after reading the article the amount under home loan principal repayment falls under 80C tax benifits, does the interest on Home Loan (max 150,000) get tax benifit over and above 1,00,000 limit under 80C and 1,00,000 non taxable amount?

Please Guied.
Thank

HRA - Rent receipt - Is it mandatory for rent BELOW Rs.3000/=?
by Murali on Jan 17, 2006 09:45 AM  Permalink

I find from your clarifications that Rent receipt is not mandatory if the rent claimed is below Rs.3000/=

But in our office Accounts people say even though it is not mandatory, it is UPTO THE ACCOUNTS EXECUTIVE to insist for rent receipt even if the rent claimed is Rs.3000/= or BELOW.

Pl clarify.

Tax rebate on home loan
by Kasturi on Jan 09, 2006 03:11 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I have taken a loan last year from HDFC.I have already started paying EMI since last few months. My house is not yet completed and it will take few more months to complete my house.I have already finished to take the total sum of money from HDFC.I am a central govt. employee.
Now, my problem is my office needs a house completion cetificate which presently is not possible, but i am already paying the EMI.But i am not getting the tax rebate this year, although i am paying EMI(even if i produce the HDFC receits).I want to know whether my case can be considered for tax rebates.
Also, i would like to know, does HDFC give house completion certificate?

Home Insurance ??? Re-think!!!
by afroz alam on Jan 06, 2006 12:06 PM  Permalink

According to me any body going for a home insurance must see and evaluate all the facts before making a final desision for a home insurance.

I would like to forward my observations on Home Insurance Schemes, generally available in our country. And I must say it is not in favour of consumer. But one must have it just for self belief that he has insured his/her home.

Normally all the leading companies have similar methology and criteria to calculate a premium, eligibility, and Sum Assured for a home insurance cover. And the S.A = Bult-Up X Construction Rate of that flat* (condition apply). Now this Construction Rate vary from area to area.

The basic principle of a 'Home Insurance' is to re-built your home in case of some unfortunate/disastor.

Now when any body go for a home insurance, his/her S.A. is decided as per prevailing Contruction Rate multiply by Built-Up area of the flat. Now if something (disaster) happen after 8-10 year of the policy, then the S.A received (maximum to maximum) at that time will be unsufficient to re-construct the same home, because by that time the construction rate will be very very high. So the basic principal is defeated.

So think !!!
