Somethng u didn't consider!
by kavitha on Jun 20, 2005 11:40 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Well Rashmi, 1 reason why ppl choose 2 do part time MBA, which u've totally left out in ur article is that they already have 6-10 yrs work experience in the industry and now wish to start their own companies or business. Since they already now r "street smart" (as u call it) they just want to get some managing mantras which may help them in their new endeavour. They r not at all in d mad race 2 achieve whtevr u have described!! Better do a real questioning and finding out the reasons why ppl who opt 4 part-time MBA do so, by interviewing them b4 writing whtevr ur opinion is n thus purpoting ur own ideas.

A good article providing insight into part time courses. But what about MBA courses through correspondence (distance learning) like from Symbiosis or IGNOU. Can you shed some light on these too.

What\'s the use of education?
by Lingaraj on Apr 11, 2005 11:50 PM  Permalink

It don't seem to add value to life even if we do any degree in India. I don't see the fire, reliasation, awareness, quality in India. Rather than degrees, we need to think in better and positive way. Many literates in India lack this quality when we talk to them. India needs good infrastructure, population control, polution control and overall thinking process needs to be refined. I see here in US, many are undergraduate and has very good thinking process and they try work with us in many levels. I don't say that all indians are bad. Today's young people want to do degress only because they get handsome salary that gets good partner.. some bank balance.. and small maruti 800 car.. that's all. There is no life beyond this for majority of Indians. I also see in US, we have value for any stream whether it is arts, agriculture etc. But India, do we see such thing?. No. Many indians love to get immigation to other countries or get a green card if they are in US. How shameful is this for all of us? we don't love our country any more!!!. Even if many say they love, they don't really mean it, If they would, defintely they would have done something for it. if I have hurt anybody, sorry.

Got the part time MBA blues
by Aman Manchanda on Jan 24, 2005 10:49 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I don't agree with rashmi's views completely. MBA part time also add a lot of value to a candidate. Moreover they are the people who keep a balance between their study and job at the same time so I feel they can manage the pressure better than the full timers, because they are already habitual of this.
