sir,
i read ur article & it is very informative & guiding, 2 a comman man.i am having a querry regarding conveyance allowance : My employer is not paying any conveyance to me.As per IT rules conveyance is tax free.I stay in the same city where my office is situated at.Pl.tell me how 2 claim conveyance rebate?

Worthwhile information given in simpler form to understand. If few others give their ways in simpler forms, it can be beneficial for general public who are all blindly dependant of CA to do such simple things.

Hope such subjects are brought out.

The calculation should show the standard deductions, savings rebate, etc. Pl work out one sample and show on an income of 4.00 lakhs. geeta 15/1/05

The calculation shown here does not take care of the standard deduction which is available for such slab and for which no savings are required.
You should also tell something about the various savings options and how they can be used while calculating income tax.

sir, be sure that that now there is no tax on income below Rs 100000/- for year 2004-05.
