See the first table. Pakistan(4) has higher seeding than WI (6). ICC had set this rating before starting the tournament. So Pakistan is D1 and WI is D2. Ireland defeated Pakistan to reach into Super8. Ireland replaces Paskistan from D1 and WI remains as D2.
This disgraceful performance was coming as the signs were there for all to see from the past performance of these players.Unfortunately the whole system of Cricket Management has turned purely commercial in India at the cost of proffesionalism. Today our cricketers are quickly commercialised by the system and become highly selfish, self centered and individualistic and play for themselves rather then for the team.Winning is least of their concern as long as they can retain their lucrative endorsement contracts unlike the Australians for who winning comes first always and everytimes and the captain sacrifices scoring a century for the sake of the team. What we lack is proper management,leadership, team spirit and above all the will and determination to win at all cost.The present aging and indifferent team needs to be replaced by a much younger and enthusiastic team of talentented and committed players led initially by Ganguly to forge a team spirit and later maybe by a younger player.We need to look forward and build a new team for 2011 from now.

This schedule looks very disgraceful without the two big teams of past i.e INDIA & PAK !! I think Other playing nations will surely miss them for sure!!

Nepal??? Even 11 monkeys would make a better cricket team as compared with the preent Indian team.
After the great play displayed by our great heros in this world cup matches, we should ban indian cricket team for an year atleast or replace the entire cricket team with INDIA 'A' Team.

after that, they should play priliminary matches with "A" teams of Bangladesh, Ireland, Bermuda, Zimbabwe, Scotland, Kenya and Holland, to qualify for playing international cricket.
