Have not much to say about his play...he is good in all aspects of cricket as a captain, as a bowler, and ofcousrce as a batsmen...
he had tough time last year with all the team mates, coach and BCCI. he got back in to the team and proved all of them as wrong...
what is good to see now is he is making another debut to his carrer with the performences he gave in series with Pakistan...
and more over he is very near to be the Top Run Scorer in 2007 ..hope he would make another ton and take the top slot in test cricket where he was considered to be weak

dravid still best.
dravid did not have godfather to survive but plaed almost 12 yrs on the basis of performance consistantly while some other player sticked to captaicny even after pathatic form and poor batting bcuz of his godfather called dalmiay dravid did not cry infront of media when he was dropped from odi like other senior player did... to gain public attention dravid performed as per team requiredment,stood against all conspiracy and dirty politics of ind dressing room and TODAY WALL STANDS TALLS WITH 3 ICC AWARDS THE HONOUR DID NOT HAPPENED TO ANY OTHER PLAYER Brain Lara said that he will give his head for dravid.. Dravid is still the best... (f same happened to gnaguly or tendulkar ind media would hv done great noise.)

Sourav is a good batsman and an utility bowler as well.I am giving him some small tips as being a player once myself played in Kolkata lieuge . 1. He should stand 1 ft distance from poping crease against fast bowler ,chest towards mid on 2. he should stand straight and farm but fexible to move any direction .In this way he can easily play the ball coming towards his leg stamp which generally most of the bowlers attack him due to his vernability on leg stamp. 3. Initially before starting his inings , He should generally asume the ball is coming to his leg stamp always paeticularly against Brett Lee .As a result his movement towards off stamp will be restricted initially to avoid any snick out side the off stamp 4.Though he is a classic offside player but with the above he can develop as a good leg side player also 5. He should hold the bat with the right hand little bit upside but not to touch the bottom side .as a result panching from the bat will be very effective .At present top of the handle is seen more ,so it should be less 6. Opening against fast and accurate bowling on hard bouncy pitches in aus conditions will be a tough task for any batsman . it will be a challenge to even Jaffer As a professional team player dravid he accepted challenge If he fails he will be out of test team also He is well aware of chief selector has an agenda against him.( Already out of odi team after just five bad innings. (Harbajan was wktless in six matches still he playing odi ) Dravid batted in diff positions throughout his career and highest average than any other ind batsman in test cricket. Rahul is only ind player who won 3 icc awards and represented icc test team for 3 yrs and selected icc odi team for 2 yrs. %u2013( if same honour happened to any other player ind media would done huge noise) Dravid had record performance outside India and always performed against strong bowling attack, when team was under pressure. This will be acid test for dravid and Best of luck to 10 K runs in test cricket Even in 3 test against Pakistan dravid leterally opened innings and responsible for good partnership with jaffer.so making comfortable platform for middle order batsman to carry forward Team has 3 openers ganguly sewag and tendulkar and none of player is coming forward to open innings to accommodate yuvraj. KUMBLE on his cricketing carrier will be remembered as the most stupid filder who even not try a simple slide(conservative nature not giving importance to stop the ball) to stop the ball,as his white uniform will be dirty.AFTER getting captaincy,see he is like hungry to won the test matches and trying aggrassively throughout in the field. this is 100% kumble;but why he was not markes those senses earlier in his carrier.simply becase he use to be the only test bowler for india for a long period of time.with less technics and inteligenced murlidharan and shane warne topped the list in world cricket because of there sportsman spirit and hunger to won the game.not like kumble who satisfied everyday and cementing his place by taking averege 06/06 wickets in a test match for his own. AS it happens to KUMBLE and he was the top bowler for india----he can sleep in the field,he can let the ball pass on his head,he can let the ball pass nearby,he can see the ball pass in front of his eye with resonable speed or he wont slide,fall,try to grasp the chances comes onhis way. becase nobody can remove him from the team. scroing his first double 100 after 11 yrs of int;l cricket in 99th test that too against insipid bowling.Even jaffer has 2 double 100s in 26 test matches ganguly great counted as 20th test player after 7 yrs in icc test ranking for first time if umpire did the job properly ganguly would not have scored more than 30 runs in kolkata or blr. In kolkata even laxman scored runs and dravid and jaffer had very good partnership also in blr pathan had scored 100 ganguly was removed from the captaincy bcuz of ICC put the ban not from bcci whole country know how he misused media and politician influence to get bacc inot team through back door. and started groupism. ganguly promoted players against players he backstabed sachin to ganin captaincy he betryed dalmiay and dravid

dravid is comitted prpfessional team player will perform as per team requirement but it is unfair to ask him to open to accomodate yuvraj
dravid's average as a No 3 batsman is above 56 while as opener as 34 and against aussies 51. team had ganguly sewag and tendulkar three operners and none of them to come forward to open innings so that yuvi can accomodate. why cant sachin or ganguly can't open innigns superstars wanted to open in odis so that easy to build innings without any pressure of run rate and more balls to face but in test new ball with shine and morning dues on bouncy hard green pitch very difficult to face the fast bowling but after some over balls will loose shining and batting will be easy. in 3 tests against pak, team lost first wkt when score was less than double figures .dravid along with jaffar consolidated the innings and scored runs and prepared a comfortable plat form for middle order to carry batting easily

First of all congratulations Sourav on a well deserved 100 ! At this important milestone in his career it would be relevant to discuss why we need more not less of Ganguly.
1. He is the first "aggressive" Indian captain. He had the guts to stare down the toughest competitors in World cricket - the Australians. Unlike the meek and submissive players and captains of earlier eras (who all displayed great "sportsman spirit" when they lost - i.e. they lacked the killer instinct), he never backed down from a fight. He gave as good as he got. That is the secret of his success. After all it is not easy to be respected by Steve Waugh - it has to be earned. Steve like many other opponents admire and respect him for this very quality.
2. He is where he is on his own merit. At the moment he has no Godfather in BCCI watching over his career (we can ask why is Sehwag included in every team for every test and one day inspite of his "interesting" performances ?).
3. He personifies the spirit of "Never say die". That is something we all need to learn from him. It reminds me of the bull dog spirit of the English. Once he bites into something he does not let go of it. Kudos to his spirit for coming back into the team and for his grace in his fight against the Australian pirate.
