Aussies were never a great cricket team, like the great West Indies team of the 80s. What was great about Aussies was their preparation, planning & man-management aspects, i.e. the non-cricket aspects, unlike the great westindian who excelled only in their on field cricket. Aussies were all this while dependent only on Mcgrath & Shane Warne for their winning, as has been exemplified by the aussie loses after these two have retired. If ever there was a cricket match between the great westindies team & the great aussie team, i bet westindies team would have beaten the aussies handsdown easily, even if the aussie team had both Mcgrath & Shane warne playing for them.
