stop talking nonsense and let us consider facts...his strike rate is less than gilchrist in all forms of the game, he has never mastered glen mcgrath, his average is below that of michael hussey, he has never finished games off like brian lara....the list goes on and on....he could score big in one-day matches only after being allowed to open....he struggles against the short ball aimed at his body....your move...let us see you reply to each of these points.....

my dear jamba, he scored more than 25k runs & 80 plus centuries.Avg & statisticks may be differ ,have you ever watched sachin straight drive,driving ball in rice,pedall sweep . regarding winning matches openers will give platform, middle order/lowermiddle order has to finish game.ok...these are the basics....with out understadings basics ...we are Criticizing legends...my dear think...

All you guys are looking at frail bowling attacks and not so good bowlers in the present era; Brett Lee, Dale Steyn, Ryan Sidebottom etc may be good and what about the rest of the real talented bowling pool in the world. The young guns from India have faced these Placid kind of bowlers. Looking at Sachin from his debut as a teenager till present, I think he has faced far better bowlers who are legends today: Pakistan: Abdul Qadir, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Shoaib, Saqlain Mushtaq, Mushtaq Ahmed Lanka: Vaas, Muralitharan, Australia: MervHughes, Bruce Reid, McDermott, Mcgrath, Shane Warne Newzeland: Sir Richard Hadlee, Danniel Vetttori, Chris Cairns, Chris Harris WestIndies: Malcolm Marshall, Rodger Harper, Ambrose, Walsh SouthAfrica: Donald, Symcox, Fanie Devilliers Zimbabwe: Heath Streak
I do not think any of the young guys have ever played these kind of bowlers at their Prime in Tests/ODI's.
To an extent Far better than Gilchrist It would be ideal to compare if you want to i.e Sachin and Steve Waugh because even Gilchrist has not played the better bowlers by the time he debuted.. so I think Sachin is mortal a human like us who has erred in life but at everytime when he has entered any cricketing arena ,has carried the country's expectations on his shoulders till date against all quality oppositions anywhere......

what strike rate do you expect from a guy who is consitently performing from last 18 years and in more than 400 ODI's with an average of more than 44? does gilly has capability to play as long as sachin? why did he retire so soon? talking about mcgrath, sachin is the only batsman who has given nightmare to mcgrath and mcgrath himself admits that sachin is the best batsman he has bowled to. how many matches has hussey played? 85 ODi's with an average of 55. How can he be compared with sachin??? Talking about lara, agreed he is among the best, but what has he done in his entire career of 299 ODI's, scored at the rate of 41 per match? and how many time had he saved WI? look at thepathtic condition of WI when lara was playing!! who says sachin struggles with the short balls? had that being teh acse he would have not made india victorious againsy OZ in recently concluded CW series. Remove sachin's contribution from the matches that we have won, we would be long out of the series, forget about plaing finals and winning it!!!

in test cricket the strike rate dowes not matter what matters is average that shows the consistency of the person and tendulkar is miles ahead in that. next pont lets check hussy's average after he plays at least 50 test matches currently he only played around 20. the next point lara finished only one test match and in that also he was dropped in the final stages, same with sachin if he was dropped by Akram in that Chennai test against pakistan then no one will ever question. ask McGrath who is the best batsment and he says lara and tendualkar, so that will answer ur question and next he is opening for the last 13 or 14 years and never talk abt one day record man, people are miles behind in that recent hundreds against Aussies are proof enough of his abilities. one final word if the best bowler of this generation Shanewarne picks him as the best batsman he bowled to who are we discuss abt his abilites.

Youngsters??? Do you know the meaning first.We the only indians talked about Young and old. Watch ausiee team. Hayden is 36 years and he is still the best batsmen. Ponting is 32 Years. No one in Aus talks about age.
They repect people and their knowledge.
Many of us started watching Criket just only becuase of SACHIN. Let us repect him.

What for u mention aussies? Let them do what they want. It is colonioal hangover to keep thinking what white countries are doing and comparing to us. No doubt about Sachin's pedigree or class. But thr point is...he WAS a great batsman. Nowadays, the greatness is visible only in glimpses. And those of us who really respect him want him to go when people wills till ask..why..and not...why not?

why not talk about OZ when comprision is made on the basis of age and not the class that a person has. It is true that greatness is visible only in glimpses, but that glimpse is in form of sachin and no one else in indian cricket.
If Pronab could get Vibhusan under the influence of the Left which has actually got him to the Lok Sabha for the first time in his life by manupulation of Left votes. He in return has given whatever he could to the Left or otherwise W Bengal in whatever form he could give inspite of loss of revenue to the centre from the state and free travel by a good section of the population particul;arly in the Sealdah Div. of the railways.
