india pl. stop playing test
by Bunty on Jul 27, 2008 09:58 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

indian team has become like zimbabwe. toothless, powerless.
i still remeber 2 tests against pak in karachi,
we started excellently getting 5 odd wickets for less than 60 or 70 only to lose test by huge margin.
so problem lies with our bowling.
we are just not fit for test.
where are the bowlers to take 20 wickets ??

Stop acting like superstars and start working on the
by ajay kumar on Jul 27, 2008 09:41 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Sachin, Ganguly, Laxman, Sehwag, Dravid should stop acting like know all superstars and start working on the forgotten basics to tackle the spinners. It helps to start working with a clean slate rather than working on assumptions of your own super capabilities.

Sehwag should switch from the 20-20 or 50 over hitout mentality. Dravid should act naturally rather than trying to be super cautious to save his place in the side.

Put your style in the drawer and rather concentrate on technique.

Otherwise there are more such humiliating losses to face up to!!

Wake up, guys!!

No one is talking about our poor balling. It was simply below average lacking any kind of sting. Fielding added insult to injury. All in all it was a forgettable show, no one except Laxman showed any kind of guts. Sachins and Dravids may get the form back what will happen if we bowl and field in so lacklustre manner. Indian attack today is really shortage of talent. We need some youngster with raw talent like Mendis to come in fore

Attack is the best form of defence.Dravid et al should stop playing Mendis & Murali with leaden feet like Aussies & the English.Instead, they should play with plenty of freedom of footwork like Gambhir. When our guys rise up to the challenge and look to attack,Murli & Mendis shouldn't know where to pitch the ball.If you tend to play over cautiously, forgetting your natural, attacking game, you will be doomed.
That said, mark my words, Murali & Mendis are going to take the Srilankans to the top of the test ranking, as they are perfectly capable of inflicting larger margins of defeat to teams like Aus., SA, England etc., who would have no clue for the duo.Indians can take comfort with the fact that they had fared better against them vis-vis other test teams.

Ajay Kumar you have made a Balnket comment In here. Basically Mendis is simply a diffrent type of bowler and I am sure Fab 4 will read him next test

Open Challange to Dhoni and So called Young Cricketer
by Tanoy on Jul 27, 2008 09:36 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

If Yuvraj , Dhonoi etc played in test , India could do 50 in first innings and 100 in second innings against Murali and Menids. Ganguly, Laxman, Tendular , Dravid are best playesr against spin in the world. Any Tom, Dick and Harry can play 20-20. but every one can't play Test crciket. For God Sake Your Cicket Illiterates stop wtaching Test Cricket.
Murali and Mendis have made high quality spin .
In fact I want Dhoni and his team should play at least one test match against such quality bowling then all those Nireanjanshah, Lalit Modi and Pawer will learn what Test crciket is

You wont know how the other youngsters will fare unless you give them a chance.
Ganguly, Laxman, Tendular , Dravid have got their chance and have failed miserably. Time to make way for someone else.

Indian youngsters were doing well till the final of Asia Cup. Mendis ran through the youngsters and that is history. Now we are made to realise that Murali-Mendis combination is deadly even for such fine players of spin bowling - the fab4. That is the fact established in the first test. I think these 4 did their best. Let us hope for better performance in following tests.

Maulik shah don't be emotional. Even shane warne could do any thing against them. Muali is the finest bowler. Ajanta uses Ball like Caram Board. You can't tell him leg or off spinner. Murali got a great partner. So Try to admit They are great bowler against Four class players.

So Don't speak useless comments.

Team India can perform well in only one tour in an year. This year's quota is over. (Down under tour). Let us stop expecting miracles from this team in 2008.

tought series than austrila
by ashwin saxena on Jul 27, 2008 09:29 PM  Permalink

it is really difficult to judge them so early even our juniors were unable to play murali and mendis in the final they could not even play 8 over of mendis and also remember that playing srilanka in srilanka is much difficult than playing aus in austr or even south africa in SA.
u can see what happen to srilanka in aus where they just manage 2 wins one with india that too rain affected and other with aus .But it will be very difficult to win or even draw this test or even ODI

indian batsmen apply common sense and have some guts..u can succeed then..
by Manoj on Jul 27, 2008 09:27 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Its very disappointing but surely not surprising that indian lost the match mainly because all batsmen despite having skills ,lacked in guts and out of the box thinking .Well if i were one of the indian batsmen , i would have taken guard at least one or one and half foot outside the crease and mauled these two spinners instead of they mauling me.Its simple logic that spinners are effective only if the ball is allowed to pitch and as they are slow ,its easy to face them standing a foot and half outside the crease as well.It doesn't take a player of over 100 tests to realise this, its pure logic man and common sense and of course require some guts..imagine if atleast two of the explosive indian batsmen like sehwag and ghambir adopt this strategy, there would be a real run fest..hope the indian contingent read this..good luck..

i really found it funny man...if you really have that talent and ideas, why can't you prove yourself and play test matches against Murali and Mendis to show your ideas...

Absolutely true. IPL should be blamed for performing last rites of Indian cricket. Sachin, Dravid, Gangulli, Kumble and Laxman should not hv played in IPL. They have gorgotten their classic batting.

In IPL same SriLankan player's also played. How can u say IPL affected only Indian player. Players Other than India are played very well for their countries. Indian players only counting the IPL money till now, and they are not concentrating their game

We will never improve unless we blame ourselves .. Blame IPL. Blame the coach .. Blame the Sri Lankan spinners.. When will this blame game ever stop and when will the INdian cricket team accept responsible for their actions. The truth is the Indian cricketers are not commited. They play well sometimes, most times they take it easy. They have no consistency at all. They probably dont practice regularly, dont work out, they think they are the best in the world. Skill without attitude is worthless.
