This Series is for Sachin only
by Sunil D on Jul 28, 2008 07:26 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

My humble request to all Indian cric fans. Please watch this series for Sachin's World record only.... Whether India win or lose should be taken secondary. After all only records make players great. This whole series is being played only for Sachin so that he can break Lara's record. So pls bear with indian team.

Indian can tackle Murli and company provided
by Ashish Kumar on Jul 28, 2008 07:22 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

We take the following steps:
1: Start selecting the captain of the team on the basis of merits and not the basis of players belonging to certain regions. It is evident that the captaincy has been given to Kumble only to placate the South India lobby, despite his terrible performance down under. Kumble, on his present stature does not have a place in the team.
2. Select players on their present capability on not on their past glory. Will the West Indies select Garfield Sobers in their team to-day?
3. Cancel the contract of the present coach and bring in Shane Warne who has proved his capabilities in the IPL recently. He will also bring in the clue to read the spinners.

Simply Stupid! If you cannot digest defeats stop wathching not only cricket but any sports.
Kumble has done very well in Australia both as a player as well as a captain. If you have a problem of memory visit Doctor. Do not compare form of players on the basis of 20-20 its is utter foolishness. The champion Australian team has only 2-3 players of less than 32 tears old. Remamber good old saying " Age is not a criteria & youth is not a qualification

Wah re mere sher. Kya zabardast idea diya hain. Kaha se ise sochna seeka? South Indian lobby don't forget president of BCCI from Maharastra, Chief of selectors from Maharastra, BCCI commisioner from Gujrat, Secretary of BCCI from Gujrat. NCA head from maharastra, and u r talking abt South Indian lobby ha ha ha? What a ignorant fool u r. Well yes given the present state of WI cricket they wld select garfield sobers if he is ready to play. And also the only batsmen who is performing for WI is Chanderpaul (Old horse). Just bcoz Shane Warne won IPL for his team doesn't qualify him to be the next coach for any team. Remember Kapil Dev lead the team which won World Cup, when he was the coach we performed badly. A coach can help only to a certain extent, its up to the team to do well. India won T20 wrld cup and Aus ODI series without a coach, do u remember my friend? Think b4 writing anything here. Nonsense will not be tolerated.

Dear Mr. Vishwanath,
An old adage says "Beauty of bureaucracy lies in anonymity" The South Indian lobby is invisible yet effective. An intelligent person like you should be able to read the fine prints. I would not waste your time by citing incidents. Democracy always runs through pressure groups and I have qualms about a South Indian lobby. My only appeal is: safeguard national pride which is now associated with cricket. And yes, if anyone of you thinks Kumble & India came off in flying colours in the test series down under then he must be a great follower of Mahatma Gandhi whose philosophy of non-violence was promptly given a decent burial after independence. Only weaklings seek glory in defeat as there is never a glory in defeat.
Politics and cricket have always gone hand in hand. Look at Rahul Dravid who was trying to establish Karthik by bringing him one down to find an opportunity to eliminate Dhoni. And no wonder Dhoni paid him when the time came. And see how Dhoni brought Karthik one down against Aussies in the 7th ODI only to have him discredited. Finally, Dhoni has cleverly avoided this test series again leaving Karthik to earn a bad name against the likes of Mendis, having discovered the prowess of Mendis in the final of Asia cup. If you cannot read the fine print then you are no follower of cricket.

It seems difficult...
by chaitanya date on Jul 27, 2008 11:08 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I dont think we will tackle both spinners..as allways there is lot od pressure on indian batsment to give good total to our bowlers to win a test match..and now there is double threat from murli and mendis..its very disappointing to see our frontline batsmen struggling against murli and mendis..to come out of this some special knock is required from atleast two out of fab4...and to my mind dhoni has made very smart move by keeping himself away from this tour..

But if Yuvi is included the fielding should have been much better, he is not a bad spinner and add to that with a little bit of application he can play both spin & pace. He is better than our ageing stars.

Lack of confidence
by lendpage on Jul 27, 2008 10:44 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I think so our team is facing lack of confidence b'cos the so called IPL as dis IPL created more fear in players like dada, wall ,master blaster, the stylish player, kumble, as dey are taking lot of pressure on them as now dere place may even go from the test b'cos as more youngsters are coming in selectors view,
i think so BCCI should take them in confidence about there place in the team, and make them understand that unity is the best thing that alone can make u win matches

TEAM
by phanehwar on Jul 27, 2008 10:41 PM  Permalink

I think we need to blame all senior batsmen for this fiasco. There are the players who have played test cricket for more than 15 years.I guess their experiece would help in tackling Mendis And Muralitharan.Bowling was also not up to the mark and the pace bowlers like Zaheer and Ishant Sharma need to use better line and length like what they used in Australia.I think Dinesh is also unimpressive either with his bat and with his gloves and Parthiv should given a chance for next test. The biggest shock thing is Anil and Harbhajan did not bowl well on those spinning tracks and there were a lot of fielding mistakes which team needs to tackle for next match.Overall collectively its a team failure.

at present - NO
by Dr Love on Jul 27, 2008 10:27 PM  Permalink

Mendis n Murali r going 2 write the history on the wall.. Indians batting gods has no answer for them... Dhoni is a clever chap.. he save himself from heat, humilation and defeats..and will definately take the mantle from Kumble n we hope that will change the team also.. but what is simply missing in this series so far is a lack of application and loss of concentration n the eagerness to take the charge... they need to realize its not 20-20 tamasha cricket.. its real cricket.. its test cricket...
