It's not 1970. India bowling strength is fast bowling now. We should go with three fast bowlers.

Boss, at least in the 70's we had grt spinners. Now, we have neither spinners nor fast bowlers apart from ishant sharma to an extent. Our other `fast bowlers' are military medium pacers. I am amazed that when our fast bowlers first come into the test team, they are pretty sharp and bowl at over 140 kms per hour. One would expect them to improve their pace with more experience. But the moment they establish themselves in the team, their pace goes down dramatically. Take a look at munaf patel, zaheer khan, r.p.singh etc.. Nowadays even ishant`s pace is also not express.

Thtz wht I meant, India needs better spinners to tackle the Lankans...
My answer is yes surely. But only thing is they should have a lot of concentration on ball rather than imagine where the ball may go ? Murali & Mandis sure taking benefits of twisting of minds where the ball can moves. So if batsman go for watching balls till end with full concentration then I'm damm sure, they will do definitely good against them. Sachin & Sehwag have these capabilities but are not using over here effectively. I think, Laxman also did well but loose concentration due to high pressure in last match

Sure. Murali is not palying first time against India. His bowling average is worst against India.
We played Mendis well in past test. He took only out of form Dravid and Laxman wickets. Other were talenders.

Hi all, it seems we always forget what they did in last two series won in England ,out performed australia in australia which is never done by anyone . it happens sometimes that the luck doesnt works. see the decision made. we are always pressurizing our players that everytime they are in field they are under so much pressure.just think if your boss is always on your head dancing and pressurising you what happens your performance goes down.common friends let us all sopport them and i am sure like always our test team will come out with flying colours

Harbhajan should be throw out of the team 2 years ago. His bowling avg. is about 60 against Srilanka in SL.

yuvraj just does not fit into an international test team...his flamboyance and style can save him in the ODI & T20 versions, but in test matches, his lack of patience will be his biggest stumbling block. To a certain extent, this is true for Dhoni too! Signs are obvious anyway, India will now have to go through a transition phase (maybe 3-4 yrs), will lose many matches (some even worst defeats) before a stable n reliable middle order is established again...Rohit Sharma does seem to be a safe bet at No.4 as of now...and finally, needless to say, 'Opening pair' will be India's ever lasting concern as long as it plays test matches!
Agreed that it was a very bad performance by the Indian Team. But we have come back many times in the past after loosing the 1st test. Anyway 2 more tests are there. If we do not perform well in those 2 tests as well, then we can consider options available. It is not a senior Vs Junior issue. Juniors were equally bad against Mendis in the last one day cup final. I personally think our players were just not being able to read Mendis and were worried about him. This led to playing some casual strokes against Murali and ended up giving too many wickets to him. Why don’t we discuss about the role our Coach as well? Remember he is the coach and not a manager like Rajput, who was doing a much better job.
No ? Not with the present composition. Tendulkar has rarely plyaed a defeat saving match. He is good only to make peronnal record and not team record. He is good in a charity match. Lakshmanan is old now and should retire himself. Ganguly was never a reliable test player. Dravid is influnced by these three old player. So the three needs to be dropped and only Dravid should be kept from among these three.

where is bengal big cats? and wall supporters? the bengal big cat is unable to play both the srilankan spinners. the (damaged, because crack already propagated)wall unable to face baby spinner. you see the statistics of these big names against srilanka in srilanka.

The list must also include those who preach "The God" who refused to walk even after knowing he was caught.

what will be the stats of the wall after he played by the end of this series?
Rahul Dravid has given selfless service to Indian Cricket for such a long period. I fail to understand why such a person as he, should allow himself to be bracketed with selfish players like Sachin and Ganguly. The way he has been playing of late, he is not even a shadow of his former self. I appeal to his conscience to announce retirement from International Cricket immediately. Sachin will not retire after that, but he will be under more pressure to perform, fail more frequently, and so on.
