by rambo only on Jul 06, 2008 12:14 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

AFTER 1998 , INDIA HAS NOT WON AGAINST SRI LANKA IN A FINAL MATCH, THOUGH THEY HAVE NET 5 TIMES.

SO HISTORY IS ON SRI LANKA'S SIDE AND THE TREND IS LIKELY TO CONTINUE.

History is always written after the event and we should write the history of the sixth final meeting after the match that we will win today and set the history book right!

Sachin Tendulkar is the biggest Match winner in the Finals(Proof)......................................
by SachinTheGreat on Jul 06, 2008 12:02 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Sachin Tendulkar is the biggest Match winner in the Finals, This is the Proof:

I will give only one(1) Example, Best Tournament is that Tournament which has Best of 3 Finals bcoz it gives Equal Chance to both Teams to win the Finals. In the Recently held CB Tri-Series in Australia which was the Last Tri-Series in Australia bcoz from now on they will play only against Arch Rivals England.

Sachin Tendulkar scored 117 and 91 runs the 2 Finals which No Indian Batsman has ever played, In Fact the 117 runs scored by Sachin Tendulkar is the Highest scored by any Batsman in the Finals.According to Me this Victory in Australia is almost equal to India winning Champions of Champions in Australia in 1985 and Sachin Tendulkar scored 117 and 91 runs in both Finals.

So, Sachin Tendulkar is the biggest Match winner in the Finals...........................................................................

Totally wrong STG...........Sachin is a total non performer in finals except for 1-2 ocassions. Ans 1-2 occassions are very few in 400 matches.

by Barack Obama on Jul 06, 2008 12:01 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Yuvi and Kaif partnership helped India win the Nat west trophy in England in 2002.
We lost in ten consecutive finals(ODIs) before winning Natwest Trophy.
Then we lost in ten consecutive finals(ODIs) after Natwest trophy and then won the CB series in Australia.
Source Cricinfo.

As someone correctly pointed out in a rediff discussion board (Thanks to that guy ). I am rewriting his statement.

SACHIN is great
SOURAV is great
DRAVID is great
We made them billionaires. They are the richest cricketers on earth. We worshipped them as Gods.
Is there any other team in which three greats played together at one time and still no WC won.
They were also the captains of our teams. How much more attention they want.
In a career of more than 400 matches and when you are considered a god of cricket...and worshipped ....there should be more than just 2-3 occasions when you helped your team chase 300. 2003 WC final ?

For all the golating ....
by Dire Straits on Jul 06, 2008 11:40 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I bet my last dime just put the current Indian batting line up under Australian, English or New Zealand tracks and let them cross 200 successfully. The tracks they are currently playing in are even worse than the Indian tracks. Flattest of the flat wickets with absolutely nothing in it for the bowlers, and these flat track bullies are munching upon the meat. I'll always be an Indian suppporter and want India to win today, but that's the truth.

Oh really ? Then who helped India chase a mamooth 320 plus score in England last year ? Tendulkar scored 93 in that game and won the MOM award. Remember ? Those were the tracks of England, unlike the pathetic flat tracks where the current flat track bullies are scoring above 300.

I completely agree with u chasing 300 on feather beds is not a great thing.Lets wait and see how these young chokre's perform in Australian or English winter conditions,on which Sachin,Dravid and Ganguly proved themselves.most of the chokres in this team never played in Australian or English winter conditions. So we cannot say they are best.Sachin was and is the Spine of Indian batting in tough conditions. Its really immature to compare Sachin with this team, which is not even completed one season completely.people who compare this team with Sachin are really emotional nuts who can never be practical. If the same team looses they'll say axe the captain bla...bla....blaaaa.... Time waste no real meaning in those statements.

Is it their fault if the team does'nt support them. They played well but the team was not there at all to win the cup...Any player who scores the max no of runs in a world cup (Sachin),wat else can he do he is not a magician. So,dont blame the greats but accpet the reality the same team with out sachin's contribution wld have come out of the world cup in the first round itself.See what happend in 98 world cup semis till Sachin was there he carried Inidian hopes. But once he was out the team collapsed. As is in the test match against Pak..Once he got out due to Back pain the remaining wickets could'nt even score 12 runs....with these kind of teams u cannot expect the world cup and Sachin did play well its not his fault......thats the trurh...
