FIRST OF ALL I WANT TO BLAME THE BCCI, SITTING AT THE UPPER POST BUT DON'T HAVE THE KNOWLEDGE OF CRICKET , JUST LOOKING FOR THE MONEY, BCCI SHOULD KNOW THAT AGE DOESN'T MATTER IN CRICKET ONLY PERFOMANCE COUNT, JUST LOOK AT THE AUSTRALIA THEY HAVE THE POINTING , GILCHRIST , SYMONDS , HAYDEN , NOW BCCI SHOULD SHUT THEIR SHOP & HANDOVER TO ICL TO HANDLE BECAUSE IN ICL THERIE MANY GREAT LEGENDS OF CRICKET LIKE KAPIL DEV , WHO HAS GREAT KNOWLEDGE & PASSION TOWARD THE CRTICKET

PATHAN FIRST HATRICK WENT VAIN
YOUNIS/YOUSUF HOW THEY FRUSRATED US
KALILIS ALONE IS ENOUGH
SO STILL THERR IS PLENTY OF DEPATRMENT
WERE INDIA SHOULD LIFT THEM
GANGULY ASUUMES RIGHT
AFTER KUMBLE WE NEED A COVER BOWLER LIKE HIM
BATSMAN ARE COMMON AND WE CAN GET AS MANY WE WANT.

Yes, we need to groom youngsters to replace the top players, apart from above two, Dravid, Saurav, VVS are going to be hard to replace. We will have a bigger hole to fill than the Aussies.

i think the days are gone, when there was a single star player in indian team. right now, everybody does contribute to the success which can be easily seen in the last match. no one went to score a century, but everybody contributed in one or the other way. so india is definitely going to be a better team from now on.

Being Number One
by Raja Thakur on Jan 21, 2008 03:50 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

No doubt about that. It matter of coule of wins. Thats all.

But we need to control our tempers and media should play positive role too.

Dont sensationalize the issues. Taking out processions, burning effigies and media putting kerosin on the sentiments. We should stop this.

Perth has proven that a Focussed attitude, and hard work pays! All the world was praising India for their performance, not only Indians!

just one victory does not mean that india will be no.1.they got to keep going and selectors shd keep winnnin combination going.aussies won just about everywhere they played tests.both at home and away.so india still got long way to go.if we keep exaggregate one victory our players forget about next match and will loose 1-3.so cricket lovers plz dont make our cricketers toooooo proud.gud they wont but very important to keep going.

I know you dont use ur brain.

Ok.

Sachin is better than Bradman.

There was a time when India was similar to what Zimbabwe are now and in many matches Sachin saved India's pride by avoiding them from massive defeats.

Its a team game and everyone required to play their part. Had he played for a team like Australia then that team wudnt have lost a match at all.

When you have bowlers like Venkatesh Prasad, Robin Singh, Debasis Mohanty etc etc and inconsistent batsmen how u expect one man to score runs and help the team everytime when he was pitted against high quality opponents ??

U need education

Sachin is the greatest player.
He has failed when India needed hiim to play desperately during the crucial match against SL in the World Cup 2007. He played brilliantly in the World Cup final 2003. How can you forget his greatness during the the atwest Trophy Final. The historic match where he managed 5 when India required him to fire??
Sachin truly is the greatest player in the World.Cheers

open your eyes dear ones.......this bloody sentence is going on for a long time now "when needed sachin never plays" now just stop this!!!
how a team comes to the finals.....think that first. If he was not there, India would have been a zero like the Zim and Bangls....After the Kapil/Sunny/Veng decade (which was not as big as today's team) it was the only man Sachin who brought glory to the Indian cricket. Even the Great cricketers think the same way.

Fabulous Five please make a Statement
by Sushant Santra on Jan 21, 2008 03:11 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I wish that the Fabulous Five of Sachin, Rahul, Sourav, Laxman & Kumble believe that the Adelaide Test is their final International Match and make a strong Statement by putting in an outstanding performance.

Australia is not the place to experiment with greenhorns and let the Selectors and BCCI realize that. It is shocking to note that Ganguly's inclusion was opposed by Dhoni whose own performance on the Australian tour has been slightly above pathetic.

play this way in every match - sure you can...

crucial question is aussie team has everything in place, a coach, good media mgt, good media backing them, great team management, great facilities, talent spotting, solid board concerned only about the cricket & national team.

we dont have all that in palce, we have some of it.

Unfair selection
by Praveen Ghosh on Jan 21, 2008 02:39 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I agree to BCCI that they are looking for future. But I need to ask, are they really looking in right direction. Our senior players have hardly 1-2 yrs left, now in this stage they have been dropped. I agree Ganguly can't run fast, fielding is poor, but can anyone from young lot can match him. No one ganguly and dravid are class, which is required for quality cricket. Moreover these young guys promises a lot, but never deliver in quality cricket. Raina is still a waste. Praveen kumar has no pace. Gautam is not gambhir at all, he is very arrogant. If we need to phase out seniors, make the bench strength strong, which we dont have.
If selectors can drop dravid and ganguly, why can't they dare to drop Sachin as well, the most selfish player India ever had.
Still Ganguly is better match winner than Sachin.
This selection is not fair at all.

forget that India team selection criteria is first good feilder then comes batting and bowling.
So Athletes which can run 100m and then prospective hockey and football goalkeepers are the first criteria to play cricket and get selected for Indian team.
Samjha Karo yaar

you are telling absolutely wrong because Sachin played a great knocked every time India needed but Ganguly played a only good Captaincy which India is not required right now. So there is no use of ganguly in the One-Day squad.
Apart from these Dravid is the most required player India having because his talent and mindset.
So they should Select him

Ha, ha, ha .. So according to you, Tendulkar with a Strike Arte of 86 is selfish ... but Ganguly with a Strike Rate of 73 is a team man !!

Ganguly's average against the best team in the world, Australia-

ODI's- 23
Tests - 32

Tendulkar average against Australia -

ODI's - 45
Tests - 55

Wats the use !!!!! Sachin's 2nd innings avarage aginst australia is 16 which is very bad by his standards.ITs nt abt the individual records. Infact both of them have proved thir caliber many times.

Its nt just the past records that matters. see the current form of gunguly. So, he is important for the going series.
