Kumble is giving up the chance to return back
by Arjun Shetty on Jan 12, 2008 08:29 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

to avoid further humilation . India will be thrashed 4-0. Kumble was very cunning and diplomatic in shifting the focus away from his teams pathetic performance in Melbourne where India was thrashed by a whopping 350 runs and in Sydney where India inspite of umpiring errors were in the drivers seat at the end of the 3rd day..on a spinning, wearing track, Kumble and Bhajji were reverse swept by a magnificent Hayden innings and a part time spinner Clarke takes 3 wickets in 5 balls to show that Indian spinners were pathetic. Kumble got a chance to shift the blame on aussies, umpires, racial thing concerning bhajji and so on and so forth and he should have taken the chance and should have brought the team back home to avoid further humiliation.
perth..bouncing wicket...Tait will be there...Indians will be routed...

australia has dominated India and crushed India since 1987 when they won the world cup at Calcotta in our own home..In each and every world cup match where they faced us, Aussies has humiliated us and beaten us black and blue..india has NEVER even competed( forget about winning) in a single world cup head to head encounter with the aussies..

idiot rahul mad crazy blind karn, we DID not make aussies bite dust in 20 20 target untill 17 overs..also ..aussies were on target untill 17th over..also 20 20 is not a true cricket game according to ICC and all legends hence 20 20 is rightfully reduced to a few matches per year and only one match per series..
20-20 is the death of cricket where one cannot show case the real talent and 20 20 is all for gilli danda tennis ball players like useless yuvraj and Dhoni to gloat about and for crazy mad fans like u
20 20 is the death oif cricket

Australia lost consecutively against India in 20-20 matches. This proves a point that India dominated Australia in this format.

How can you think like that? What did you expect Kumble to say when there were a record series of wrong decisions by umpires on ground as well as 3rd umpire with almost all going against one team? and with one team continuously claiming wickets without any genuine reasons?
Calling gentleman like Kumble as cunning is ultimate bias. Kumble in all his career never tried to be cunning expect while bowling opponents. He never made any statements to press even media tried to ignite on his exclusions in onedayers, not giving captaincy etc.
If you have a fascination about Australia, support them but there is no need to criticize Kumble.

Your teammate has been convicted. Your charge against hogg has been thrown out. Benson, the other scoundrel continues to umpire will continue to treat ponting like harichandra. Ponting also insists he will change a few things like smiling at the opponents while character assasinating him. Sharad pawar has ruined this professional institution

question is will ponting behave ? question is will ponting be ready to come down to earth from the high pedestal of victory. will he be able to get a grasp of the situation which he, oh so plainly said "test match was played in the spirit of the game"

Lukewarm Compromises.
by Anand on Jan 12, 2008 08:10 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This entire cool off stuff is part of the strategy, supported by BCCI, CA as well as ICC, to allow compromise on principles so that the lucrative dollars are not lost.

Their common attitude is: Let's do all that is possible so that the series does not abort prematurely, not for the game, but for the money involved.

That is what gives rise to all the doublespeak (from Pawar, from Speed, about SMS sent/not sent by Tendulkar) and conciliatory tones from all other than those who really matter: The Indian Team Members.

But in these days where commerce decides everything, who is bothered about principles? Else, we had no business to remain in Australia at all after all that happened in Sydney.

Because of all this, my feeling is that we will miserably lose all through, principally because the righteous ego of our players is trampled upon, their honour compromised, and morale, therefore, low.

We should just have come back!

New Rivals
by GODAVARTI RAmesh on Jan 12, 2008 07:57 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Aussies- England have long ceased to be the rivals they were on and off the field.India-Pakistan matches have also lost the needle and the tension they had some time ago. Due to events starting from Ganguly-Waugh stand off,Crowd behavior during the Aussie tour of India in Oct 2007 and the recent face off between Harbhajan-Symonds the relations between the teams have have soured and will be cold for some time to come. Hence India and Australia are the latest Arch Rivals in cricket.

Well interesting points made. Thanks.

But I do have some reservations in this aspect. I feel we added one more arch rivals that is all. What we had before still exists.

India and pakistan still have same intensity when it comes to arch rivalry. It cannot disappear so easily.

Regarding australia-england it still persists very much. In fact many of us do not know how much rivalry they have. I realized it recently when Tony Greg was speaking to commentators;

he was attacking australian commentators like anything. Whatever they tell he was counter attacking. The australians were attacking Indians and Tony was attacking australians.

Tony was even asking questions like why did Bajji told something to Symmonds?? symmonds must have told something which might have infuriated Bajji, that might have provoked him to tell something etc etc.

Now tell me which of we Indian have Pen;;is? not a single Indian so far asked what made Bajji loose his control?? But an English man asking such questions and also defending Indians seriously,

And that was because how much rivalry the england and australians have in cricket. It is their in their blood as well. They really take it seriously.

I think Benson was england umpire, and definitely Bucknor brain washed him, otherwise Bucknor was helping Australia, and Benson helping India, but it didn't happen because Bucknor had more influence on Benson.

The last test series between aus and eng was a sell-out. More people went to this series than ever before. The series in england in 2005 was said to be the best ever, if anything, the series betwen eng/aus are at an all time high

Wow! How nice! I only hope Mr.Mudugalle looks at the video of the 2nd test match before he makes up his mind. Mudagalle will do well to analyse the online behavior of all teams in the recent past -say last 5 years to figure out where things are going wrong.

We already had one Mr.Proctor or so pass senstational judgement on Harbhajan Singh without proof.

Mr. Mudugalle, did you know the meaning of the term "Gentleman"? Well then read this line "
"Only one team is lead by a captain who also is a gentleman"

If my son or daughter had behaved the way a few members of Australian team behaved, I would have insisted on professional counselling.

Therefore, there is no need for Mr. Ponting to "COOL-OFF' with Mr. Kumble
