AUSTRALIAN CRICKET
by mahesh jhalani on Jan 10, 2008 12:10 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

What you expect from Aussies. Good behaviour, courtsey? forget it. The match was rightfully ours, whihc they snatched from us by bribing the 3 umpires and match refery. I cannot see any other explanation. The mistakes made by umpires were so glaring that it is obvious a huge amount was paid to three of them to turn match in Australia's favour. It is pity that the West Indian Board is supporting a man who has not only lost eyesight and heraing power
but also lost his integrity. BUCKNOR could not hear the edge of the bat of SYMMONDS but immediately raised finger on LBW appeal of RAHUL DRAVID, when the ball had brushed the pads. i think he suddenly got back his lost hearing power, with generous aid from Ponting & Co. Benson did not think it necessary to refer a doubtful catching decesion to third umpire but beleieved in SAINT PONTINGS version and as a puppet immediately ruled Ganguly out caught by Clark. However hard they may try now, the Aussies have lost it in th eyes of the world.

Hahahahahaha..Rightfully ours!!!LOL..Man, 4get the controversies for the moment. Australia have 16 on the trot..They are better than India by a mile. Not to forget 3 wrld cups(2 of them unbeaten). Insecure indians will take cover under excuses, when they know deep down that the team could not play out 3 overs with 3 wkts in hand. Read the columns by sambit bal and suresh menon for some rationality.

this sandeep is a convert, thinks supporting the aussies (christian folks) is his birth right becoz they are his evenglical brothers. see his criticism of sidhu and kirti azad (both representing bjp). very calculated one. mr. sandeep kumar, the entire nation is criticising the assuies don't single out a couple of them becoz you don't like the majority

Sydney Test
by ananth on Jan 10, 2008 12:09 PM  Permalink

The press coverage focussed on Bucknor and Bhajji incident. They never mentioned that if India had batted for another over or 2 we could have saved the match. If Kumble who is not a regular bat could score 45 in 72 balls why did not Yuvraj, Harbajan give him stand. Even Dhoni got out in a comical way after scoring 35 runs. Only a victory at Perth can vindicate the faith the Indian followers have on our players

Ponting reflects the real character of whole Australian community.
by ahamed sharif on Jan 10, 2008 12:09 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The Australians think that we Indians are nothing. But they were shocked to hear the words coming out of Kumble's mouth. They could not believe it. Then the way we Indians started dictating terms to ICC, the Australians were shocked.

But the aussie media by and large was critical about the umpiring and Pontings behaviour as a captain. India is a powerful cricket playing nation in terms of sponsorship and the ICC dare not go against us.

Remember Gavaskar's column last year
by bharat on Jan 10, 2008 12:08 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

When Gavaskar criticized the Australians in his column sometime last year ("Australians are an awsome side with an awful behaviour"), he was censured all over, including by the Indian cricket fans.

Now we realise how true every bit of Gavaskar's criticism is!

by devdass on Jan 10, 2008 12:07 PM  Permalink

If Ponting is honest about wanting Austrlia to be most loved team he should step down immediately and appologise for indulging in deliberate cheating!

A dog's tail is crooked and always remains that way, whatever you do.

Ponting and his team will continue to beat the world but at the same time there will be no let up in their obnoxius behaviour.

Agreed in Australia the umpires seemed biased but what stopped the Indian team from winning in the test matches and one day matches in India.

Abe khetan ke pankhe....
tera dimaag bhi pankhe ki tarah ghum gaya hai

having good cricketing talent is a different thing.... and having sportmanship and the stomach to digest a defeat is another thing.

No matter how gud a team u are, but if u cheat you are nowhere respected

HIgh Hopes Ponting and Company
by ravi pathak on Jan 10, 2008 12:03 PM  Permalink

This is not the first time that the Australian team has displayed a boorish attitude. It is high time that the team learns to be civilized,India is a role model it can try to emulate.
