TEAMS VISITING AUSTRALIA
by Rohon Sen on Jan 08, 2008 11:54 AM  Permalink

(1) Ricky Ponting %u2013 (THE TRULY GENUINE CRICKETER OF THE CRICKET ERA AND WHOSE INTEGRITY SHOULD NOT BE DOUBTED ) should be considered as the FOURTH UMPIRE. As per the new rules, FOURTH UMPIRE decision is final and will over ride any decisions taken by any other umpires. ON-FIELD umpires can seek the assistance of RICKY PONTING even if he is not on the field. This rule is to be made, so that every team should understand the importance of the FOURTH UMPIRE .

(2) While AUSTRALIAN TEAM is bowling, If the ball flies anywhere close to the AUSTRALIAN FIELDER(WITHIN 5 metre distance), the batsman is to be considered OUT irrelevant of whether the catch was taken cleanly or grassed. Any decision for further clarification should be seeked from the FOURTH UMPIRE. This is made to ensure that the cricket is played with SPORTIVE SPIRIT by all the teams.

(3) While BATTING, AUSTRALIAN players will wait for the ON-FIELD UMPIRE decisions only (even if the catch goes to the FIFTH SLIP as the ball might not have touched the bat). Each AUSTRALIAN batsman has to be out FOUR TIMES (minimum) before he can return to the pavilion. In case of THE CRICKETER WITH INTEGRITY, this can be higher.

(4) UMPIRES should consider a huge bonus if an AUSTRALIAN player scores a century. Any wrong decisions can be ignored as they will be paid huge bonus and will receive the backing of the AUSTRALIAN team and board.

(5) All AUSTRALIAN players are eligible to keep

Right on the money
by Sorab Dalal on Jan 08, 2008 11:53 AM  Permalink

I am continuously amazed at how the ICC characterizes this as just umpires having a bad day. They had a bad 4 days (nothing really wrong on day 3 to give them credit). Further, as Prem pointed out in an earlier post why has Ponting not been brought up for violating the code of conduct like Rashid Latif was by (surprise surprise) Mike Proctor for claiming a bump ball as a catch. The Aussies seem to be practicing holding the ball against the ground when they dive with one hand to help them retain control. Everyone knows that when the back of the hand hits the ground, the chance of a ball popping out increases. Mike Proctor says he knows what racism is, that is because he actively practices it by going after subcontinental sides and favoring caucasians. Remember his preferential treatment of Michael Slater in Mumbai 2001? If that had been Ganguly, a three match ban would have been imposed. The biggest racist in cricket seems to be the man making decisions about racism.

real action
by Stew India on Jan 08, 2008 11:52 AM  Permalink

Prem, you are losing it a bit. Need to keep your emotions in check a litte.

I think here is what the Indian board should do.

1. Ask for the result to be annulled. Not the individual records, just the results. Everyone agrees the umpiring was so horrible, it denied India the match. That is the most important.

2. Appeal the Harbhajan ban - ask the question, how is it that Hayden and Clarke's word is taken and Tendulkar's is not.

3. Complain to the ICC about Michael Clarke - a cricketer is under no obligation to be honest about claimed catches and walking when snicking the ball. Thats the reality. But if the captains have a deal that the catcher will be honest and his word will be taken, then he must be honest. If he is not, he should be banned.

4. Complain against Ponting. Apparently, Rashid Lateef was banned 5 matches because as captain he appealed for a non existent catch. In Pontings case, after the match, he went further and insisted he took it cleanly when he had not. No one on earth can say he took that Dhoni catch cleanly. He landed the ball on the ground, then used the held ball to push himself up from the ground.

The Indian Board should file compliants the same what the Aussies have. Actions speak louder than words. Let the officials face these facts and then decide.

You write well. I am a fan. you have really dissected the australian character here. I really hope the board officials are reading this and back the team to the hilt.
Cricket need a change and importantly it needs justice and equality. We dont need to give clarifications to the world, but we dont need to let them steamroll us either.
The Blue Billion is here to stay :)

ICC & India
by ravi bulusu on Jan 08, 2008 11:50 AM  Permalink

Whether they like it not, India is big, and cricket in India is bigger.... a sport, in which actually, India can do w/o ICC.
It is time, actually they ban Australia, till they learn some manners, have discipline, and respect others.
Indian offcials must demand removal of Australia , ar a seek atleast a demotion to Australia, to the secondary rung of unoffical test playing nations., till they stop cheating., and promise
to abide by the rules & spirit of the game.

this is what MIKE PROCTOR had to say in 2003
by S K on Jan 08, 2008 11:50 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

"As captain a lot of responsibility falls on Rashid Latif and he committed a serious offence by claiming that (unfair) catch which constitutes unfair play and a level-three offence of ICC code of conduct (offensive and penalties). Therefore, Pakistani captain shall be banned for five one-day internationals," Mike Procter said.

He handed out a five-match ban to Rashid Latif for : Being the captain, grounding a catch, and still claiming it ...

MIKE "INTEGRITY" PROCTOR SHOULD EITHER RESIGN OR HAND A SAME BAN TO RICKY "INTEGRITY" PONTING

An Official apology be issued by the Australians for the series to continue, Ponting Sacked, with New Umpires and and Third Umpire with Glasses ...

Mr Catterjee. Less Chatter and mindless drivel, and more considered comment. Repeating cliches doesn't make you a smart guy!
