Great work, Prem, now take it further...
by vijairaghavan PG on Jan 08, 2008 01:27 PM  Permalink

...Unfortunately for the Aussie psyche, it's domination, by hook or by crook so far, is crumbling in the world of cricket and India is very much to blame for that.. and that is what is hurting the slave-traders of the East. And if getting the opposition out through malicious (and engineered?) decisions by a couple of obviously interested umpires is the way boyos like Craddock like to play the game, well, tell them we are not for it, and to hell with money power and domination. The cry-babies of the game have had it their way for far too long, and it is certainly going to be some while before they get used to being beaten (which they were roundly and squarely in the Sydney Test, but the record books will lie for once)!
Mail the article to each and every cricketing website in the world, but definitely to Australia, where all the advocates of these parasites of the game can read and know what value we in India ascribe to them. After all, credibility is not something they value - be it about the truth, behaviour, sportsmanship or anything, but atleast we would have made our point! The reference to Mohammed Haneef is most relevant in this case!

by sandeep nag on Jan 08, 2008 01:22 PM  Permalink

If a fair game was played..Australia was due to loose the Sydney match......and again India will win the next two and level the series. For Australia they are a looser in this series.

Hey Indian,

Spot on! I am sure Prem would not get a reply from the English (the historical aggressors), the Australians (the historical prisoners of the English & Americas) and other like minded white mates of thiers. It is a monumental shame on the English & Australians that they cannot take Asian's rising upto thier standards or trying to dominate them through upright, good performance based on pure skill & talent.

Clearly India would have WON the 2nd Test easily, if not for the UMPIRING decisions which went against them. The last straw was Bhajji's ban based on unilateral farcical judgement given by the ICC based on evidence given by PRISONERS and signed off by AGRESSORS in England. ha ha. I tell you it is a shame the western world has become so corrupt & unfeeling and there is no sense of right and wrong atleast in Cricket Australia. Ricky Ponting has ensured that all Australians put thier heads down in shame whenever they travel atleast in ASIA. I am sure India will dominate the world with thier sheer skill, talent, abilities, maturity, intelligence and above all INTEGRITY.

NEVER MIND OUR POLITICIANS...POLITICIANS ARE MORE OR LESS THE SAME ALL OVER THE GLOBE.

ALSO CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW WE CAN POST PREM PANICKER'S ARTICLE ALL OVER THE AUSTRALIAN AND ENGLISH MINDSPACE. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THE COMMON MAN THERE UNDERSTANDS THE INDIAN PERSPECTIVE.

Did your analysis of the umpiring include:
1) Ponting being given out LBW to an inside edge (notwithstanding earlier error)
2) Lee being given out LBW when struck outside the line
3) Laxman being plumb LBW to Lee early in his century innings
4) Tendulkar being plumb LBW to Clarke early in his 150 innings

Yes there was far more against the Indians but all that goes to prove is that the match deserved to be a draw.

Upright, skill, talent, integrity? Does this include:
a) Yuvraj standing after edges
b) Ganguly claiming a half-volley catch in '03 world cup
c) Kumble deliberately slowing down the over rates
d) Ishant arriving with 2 left gloves and only 9 minutes to play?

It's funny how the BCCI/Mumbai police were so insistent that no monkey business (pardon the pun) even took place - then had to swiftly do an about-turn when confronted by photo/video evidence of banners and chants.

Also funny how the Indian press/officials/fans first claimed Harbhajan never called Symonds a monkey in India, but are now admitting that did happen.

Now there was no text from Tendulkar, but an "alleged" phone call. If this is the case, the BCCI should show the strength of their hand by having Tendulkar come out PUBLICLY and EXPLICITLY stating that Harbhajan did not say monkey AGAIN.

The world is waiting.

Procter is complicit
by Ambarish Mehrotra on Jan 08, 2008 01:18 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Mike Procter banned Rashid Latif the then Pakistan cricket captain for 5 games for claiming a catch in which the ball was caught on the bounce. The match was against Bangladesh or SriLanka. Will the same Mike Procter be consistent with his decision making and ban Ricky Ponting for 5 matches for the very same reason. Michael Clark should join him in that ban. Saurav's catch in the 2nd innings was a bump catch too.

Or are there differing standards for White Cricketers and us from the Sub Continent?

If the match referee is a racist then how can he conduct a racism inquiry?

Mike Procter's puerile statement was that no one needs to teach him abt racism, since he is from SA and literally grew up with that term. He talks as if he was the receiving end of it, when it was his race that was responsible for it. Geez these people!

Hats off to your writing. Let your writing put some sense with BCCI and let them go for a strong action.

I still remember when Sunny Gavaskar pulled Chetan Chauhan off the field cheated by Lillee. But that was when umpires were autralian. Now Ponting and Co have bribed to make a sixteen win.Shame ....

Ponting==Bush
by PREM ANAND on Jan 08, 2008 01:09 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Its funny. But Ponting's face reminds me of Bush.Mr.Subbu has aptly said that. Wheteher Ponting has turned or the autralian team has become themselves a bunch of dirty dogs pouncing on any helpless opposition is a queation. Add to it comments from steve waugh saying that it is their culture. We don't beleive in disrespecting anyone. If Indian team had pushed Australian PM like Ponting's men behaved with Sharad Pawar we would have been off ICC.Apartheid will not end.will it????

Actually, if Howard was pushed off the dais by the Indians for lingering too long when a team wanted to celebrate, Australians would have given the Indians another parade to celebrate the achievement.
