umpires standing in middle should give each decision of close catch, lbw run out, noball and wide with help of third umpire.third umpire should consist of two senior players of each side and ultramodern techonolgy of replay.test matches should be of six days.batsman at crease and fielding captain should be given right to ask for third umpire decision.if game has not to be played with honesty and justice than telecast of cricket should be banned.their should be no camera to click for what happens on field.cricket should go back to stone age and accept bloody australians as permanent winneers

Wrong things
by kshitij tumbde on Jan 06, 2008 02:15 PM  Permalink

First, I think following things went wrong in test.

1) India should have lodged full protest to match refree because that was the right thing to do. They have not lodged the protest in the spirit of the game which is bullshit as the umpiring is obviously biased.

2) Playing 4 bowlers, two of them inexperienced Inshant Sharma and RP Singh. I think we atleast need someone who is more experienced like Ajit Agarkar. I know Agarkar has lost India more one day matches by bowling poor, but hey in Australia he would make a better choice than Ishant Sharma. Suddenly they have dropped Agarkar, Sreesanth has a shoulder injury and so Zaheer has also injury and India has no fast bowlers in side. At any day Pathan would be much better player in sydney than Ishant sharma. This test match wasnt about giving chance to youngsters. You do that at home not in hostile foreign country.

3) Playing Jaffer and Yuvraj. After 1st test match, one of them should have been definitely dropped.

4) Kumble bowling 40 over. Kumble was consistently conceding 4 runs an over. Towards end of day yesterday, Australia were scoring briskly and some of Kumble's overs went for 6,7,8. This is a test match buddy. A defensive field would have forced aussies to take risks. At any pace they would not have scored very briskly.

If Kumble does not make necessary changes, he should be seen as a poor captain. We can give him benefit of doubt in this match. Captaincy is about judgement of the person.

Shame on the game of circket
by Archi Dasgupta on Jan 06, 2008 02:14 PM  Permalink

This test has been a shame on the game of cricket. The biasness shown by both the umpires were really shameful and frustrating to watch!!!! Time and again we have been at the receiving end........Its time BCCI does something about this...........

The BCCI is a toothless organisation. They want money at any cost. I have watched the match. Clearly Dravid was not out, so was Ganguly. And what about the other decision handed over against India. Time and again it has been proved that it is difficult to defeat Australia in Australia, because often India is up againsts 13 people i.e. 11 players and 2 umpires. Perhaps public memory is very short. In the last tour Tendulkar had adjudged Shoulder before wicket. But this time it is right from the word go cheating. The players too. They take catches from ground and claim for out, which the umpires obliged. I think the Cricket Australia has a pre concevied contract with the Umpires and must have taken huge money for this outrage. Shame on ICC and also BCCI. BCCI wants to make money by selling our national pride. India should boycott remaining matches and come back immediately.

Boycott the test and Return back
by Ankur Rastogi on Jan 06, 2008 02:13 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I think India should return back and should not play the third test even if that means that ICC would penalise India heavily. There is no point in playing against the whites especially against Australia.

Penalty - thats what we should take from ICC and not give them. Dum dabaa ke aayenge ghutne tekne if BCCI takes a hard stance and tightens the grip on Speed's balls.

Bucknor is Pseudo white
by Vikas batra on Jan 06, 2008 02:13 PM  Permalink

Blacks although themselves victims of racial dicrimination by whites .But to make themselves assured that they are part of European and American society and to please whites ,black umpires or refrees favours whites and are biased against Asians in any sports where they are decision maker.India should lodge a protest and if possible form a parrallel organisation to ICC(which is dominated by Whites or pseudo whites like Bucknor)

For once, a good decision
by Basker Mathrubootham on Jan 06, 2008 02:13 PM  Permalink

If Australia didn't win from this position, it would have been a shame. How much more largesse can they get? Two in favor of Symonds, one in favor of Ponting, 1 in favor of Hussey and two against India. Six decisions!! This is shocking and atrocious. Some punitive sanctions must be made against blatant incompetence.
