BCCI to complain against umpiring
by SRINIVASAN N on Jan 06, 2008 02:58 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

MAN OF THE mATCH AWARD at sydney test should be shared equally by all the 3 umpires who officiated. Feel so frustrated, that BCCI should recommend an alquida-type action is called for such umpiring, which cost the test match for INdia. Does these umpires read these messages ?

Maynot yield any results
by jayashankar venkataraman on Jan 06, 2008 02:58 PM  Permalink

Complaining the umpires may not help the game in any form. Rules have to be framed from the ICC. A player should automatically walk when he knows he has nicked it. Doubtful catches needs to be directed at third umpire. No onfield player should be consulted. Ridiculous that Ponting, Symonds, Clarke didn't walk. Such cricket can never be called as a game. Literally India won this test match convincingly. India played against Australia and Umpires. Cricket is at its lowest ebb. Cricket is a game of cheat. ICC itself needs to be checked. players should be allowed to say freely about umpires, decisions, boards after the match. If cricket needs to be clean, it has to be transparent. no code of conduct should be there for players expressing their opininon. sydney test is one of the worst cheats in history of cricket.

CHEATING AUSTRALIA
by desikan ravi on Jan 06, 2008 02:55 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Is it India 11 Vs Australia 13 !

India should boycott rest of the tour and return to India.

Australia should be penalised for wrong appeals, and Ponting should appology to India and the 2nd test result has to be given in India's favour.

My humble request to Steve Bucknor to retire immediately.

India should have complained after day-1 of Sydney test itself
by Kalarab Ray on Jan 06, 2008 02:55 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

What held back the BCCI from lodging a formal complaint after the first day itself?

Let's discontinue this attitude of trying to be a 'goody-goody boy' when guys like Ricky Ponting, Michael Clarke and Andrew Symonds bend rules to suit themselves.

And let BCCI sponsor a special pension fund for Steve Bucknor so that he can be retired immediately.

Hi,
Cricket such a lovely game as it is, the game of uncertainties the uncertainty factor should be limited to players skills and not be influenced by human(umpires') fallibilities.
India vs Australia 2nd Test at SCG made all the headlines because of the atrocious umpiring decisions made throughout the match.
The game also is known as a game of leveller so what happened with the Ponting let off and dimissal is still understandable.
But the three let off's for Andrew Symonds courtesy Steve Bucknor and third umpire is very difficult to digest for any passionate cricket fan.
The fifth day also drew attention not because of an extra-ordinary Australian victory but the bizzare dismissal of Dravid and Ganguly again aptly executed by the two renowned umpires.
We are proud of the Indian cricket team and their fight against all odds. But I don't think World Champions would be too proud with the way they won the match. This test match has been a shame for modern day cricket and the BCCI has to take blame for not forcing the issue of notorious umpiring with the ICC when Steve Bucknor has done India wrong time and again in the past.
This is where I think FIFA has a bigger control over the game of football than ICC has over cricket. The mistakes made by referees are evaluated and as a penalty they are suspended from officiating further important matches. They are made to realise that they are accountable for their decisions which can change the fate of the game although in football y

Graceful in defeat
by padmashree gururaj on Jan 06, 2008 02:54 PM  Permalink

India did not loose this test match. They were defeated. Except for Jaffer and Yuvaraj who simply do not have the technique to play quality bowling, all others have really given their best. Now Indian team should be called back. That is the only way these cheap Aussies can be taught a lesson. Winning is great, but being good sportsmen is much more important. Aussies are bad losers in this regard. See how Kumble reacted after the defeat. Well done Anil. We do not mind even if we lose 4-0 now. Just go and play aggressive cricket and try to crush teh Aussies.
